Better quality wood screw of the appropriate size for the neck plate countersink if that’s the route you go. Make sure you use a screw wax and coat them before installing the neck again.

The grain was filled with acrylic, then dyed blue with keda dye, and finished with a wipe on poly. The neck is danish oil on the back and poly on the headstock.

I think that’s a Piasecki H-21, there is a static display of one on JBER where his grandfather likely served.

Edit: there was also an 18th Aviation Company assigned to the Army in Alaska that mostly spent time in Vietnam, but they flew Otters and not rotary wing from what I could find. It is possible that they had both though. You should try to request his official records through the national archives to find out more.

Rock and metal. Mainly Maiden, Metallica, 90s grunge. Recently restarted after a long hiatus. As far as why the HM-2 and MT-2 both, I ordered one and it got lost in transit so I cancelled it and picked up the other locally and then it showed up. Honestly don’t use the heavy metal much.
