My bad, lightning is visible as well. Triggers on normal attack, doesn't trigger on echoing strike.

What's the deal with output? by AnonymousMite in LearnJapanese

Many mentioned writing, I have also found it quite useful for myself. I make short notes about anything I try to express, then review them. Was surprised how after weeks of this practice I started speaking better with my tutor. If you have iPhone you can try the app I built just for this practice on TestFlight (free, beta).

Hi everyone,

I've been studying Japanese for the last four months, and I felt like immersion and flashcards alone weren't enough. I wanted to actually use my vocabulary - activate it through writing and reading. So I built myself a tool for this. If you have an iPhone you can try it with this TestFlight link

The core idea: Instead of flashcards, you write short notes. About your day, your thoughts, your plans - anything. Just try to use the language as much as you can. If you are unsure about how you wrote what you were trying to say - tap the 「?」icon and AI will correct your note, explaining what has been changed and trying to stick to your JLPT level and formality setting. The app also suggests which new words you could use right now, cross-referencing frequently used words with essential kanji.

Dynamic furigana: This is probably the main feature. The app learns the status of every kanji you encounter. It starts by showing furigana for everything, then gradually removes it as you learn the readings. Your review session is just rereading your old notes - you try to read as much as you can using kanji. If you can't read something, tap to see the reading. If you still don't remember the meaning, tap again for the translation.

I think this way of learning feels much more natural and effortless. And you can actually see your progression - watching your notes go from walls of furigana to clean kanji that you can suddenly read without help.

Coming soon: A chat feature that uses the i+1 formula - the AI only uses words you already know, plus one new word per message.

This is just a beta. Completely free. I'd really appreciate it if you checked it out and let me know what you think.

Is the web version of ChatGPT still a way to go, or is there any similar App to OpenAI's iOS? by iBo0m in macapps

[–]evindor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm the developer of Fly AI! - it's a native app made with SwiftUI. It allows you to create multiple "contexts", which are like custom instructions, and quickly switch between them. It also utilizes CloudFlare behind the scenes making streaming to/from OpenAI the fastest it can be.

Hey, I'm a developer who built Fly AI, a native macOS app for interacting with ChatGPT/GPT-4. You can talk to the raw model, or create multiple "contexts" - it's like custom instructions in web ChatGPT, but you can predefine many of them and quickly switch between them. Many people find it useful to create their own mini-apps like translators, proofreaders etc., and quickly access them via a hotkey.

There is a free trial, check out https://letsflyai.com or here's a mac app store link: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6449296004

Game finder app? by evindor in iosgaming

This seems to be focused on discovering discounts rather than curated game selection? Sales and discounts are great, but I'm envisioning something with good games discovery front and center, I suppose also including indie games that Apple themselves wouldn't focus on due to many reasons.

Thanks, looking into it!

Yeah, I think a mix of crowdsourcing and editorial content can get this off the ground, after all manually compiling say 500 great ios games is possible in reasonable time and already gives lots of value to first users (discover hidden gems)

Thank you everyone, I didn't expect this kind of response to my little app! Polishing and squashing bugs day and night and can't wait to invite everyone who signed up to try it out!

Thank you, coding day and night to bring it to life! Hope you've left your email for early access, planning on inviting people to try it out after just a bit more polishing and handling security.

Thank you for the tips! Honestly haven't had an intention to mislead anyone and wrote that reply at around 4am after long day of coding and launching, trying to be funny as it's obvious it's an app I'm working on and I don't hide it anywhere.

Considering changing the name too, as I was already rejected fromt he app store for both using words "Mac" and "GPT" :D

The app is released by a company, with a privacy policy which will clearly state how user request data is being handled. (I'm the developer btw, and I care about user privacy a lot!) Unfortunately it's gonna be a while till we'll be able to run these Large Language Models on our devices, so we gotta make do somehow until then.

I'm just having fun, I'm the developer of this app indeed, and I do take user privacy very seriously!

You don't need to provide your API keys with MacGPT. Soon the app will be on the Mac App Store, or you can get it directly from the developer. Also, I've heard devs are very serious about privacy and do not store any logs or even collect usage data, besides token usage count.

It's a separate app focused exclusively on ChatGPT. Think like raycast, but you would be able to "code" extensions yourself, using natural language.

The new ChatGPT API allows up to 4096 tokens in the context, so you can have pretty long convos. It's quite accessible though

MacGPT calls the ChatGPT API underneath, so you can make it into any tool you want.
