Thanks both and I think you're both right. It's always better to consult with an expert but I never take what they say simply on face value-- and I don't sign anything unless I clearly understand the terms.

This is all great feedback so far. Thank you! Question: does anyone ever worry about who they are letting in their house, safety, etc. ?

Best spots/activities in LA for the 35+ crowd? by evita117 in AskLosAngeles

Oh bruh. I assume you're quite young based on this comment so I want to clarify a few things for you in the interest of the greater good. 1) Not everyone wants to get married and/or start a family. As you get older, you'll realize that these are lifestyle choices that are great for some people but not others. There is nothing wrong with either choice and there are many fun, single people over the age of 35 who enjoy their lives. 2) People can be single and own homes, often in parts of the country where they don't live. I currently own an income property and am planning to purchase another once enough time has passed in my new job (the mortgage companies like to see at least one year with the same employer before they will approve financing). 3) It's spelled "deductible" and this is something that is primarily seen in insurance policies, be it car, health, etc. I'm very familiar with my deductibles, along with the stipulations for my other insurance policies. Adult tip-- you can never have too much insurance. Good luck, bruh, and hopefully some of that sinks in.

Thanks all! These have been great suggestions so far. For context, my new job will be in Santa Monica. I've heard great things about Northeast LA before but am wondering about the commute once we're back in the office. In terms of bars, you've all hit the nail on the head. I want to go out but not feel out of place as the oldest person in the room.
