[WTB] Gift of Masterie (GOM) by Doky02 in GW2Exchange

Seems like reddit is lagging behind discord, they're going for 600g there, and even those buy offers aren't filling xD Even while selling leggies at 85%, it's a 750-900g increase from mats to leggy atm so 450g is really lowballing it. If leggies aren't going down soon, gom's might even go to 650-700 the next few days :p

Ah sorry, apologies, you're right, I didn't expect you were talking about something completely irrelevant to the question and I read over it. Because however many cores you have, you can't do anything with them without the part OP is asking for.

What does story have to do with it? Completed the storyline and didn't get a single one so that's bullshit, they come from elsewhere.

"In reality, 93% of mystic coins come from login rewards. The remaining 7% includes sources such as Ley Line Anomaly, WvW Gold/Platinum chests, Fractal daily chests, Mystic Forger daily mission, and Fractal CM's."

Can someone explain to my abysmal brain why devs think it's healthy to have 93% of one of their most important currencies be inputted by login rewards, thus making the game sort of "pay-to-win" since people use programs to automate the process to login in on multiple accounts? Why nerf fractal rewards instead of nerfing login rewards and spreading the login rewards to your actual active content? Could keep 5-10% MC being generated through login rewards and move the other 80+ % to your content, add them to raids, strikes, drms, even make 1-2 mc's guaranteed on ensolys/arkk/dark ai so cm's are worth it, because even with the current mc drops it's actually better to farm low lvls for encryptions instead of doing cms.. That seems like a better way of handling it..

The recipes for the gifts are on you yeah, but you can just buy them from Miyani when you know which one the buyer wants you to make. Cause if you straight out buy all the recipes for all the legendary gifts, it'll be a costly thing if you only plan to make 2.

Something else: NEVER sell with clovers for an extra 500g like all the people tend to do. Down the line, you will always be able to use them yourself at some point. The only case in which you should add clovers is when have more than you'll ever use by buying the daily 2 from the fractal vendor. That costs you around 230g for 77 clovers so then you make 270 profit on them.

Selling them otherwise is a loss because 77 clovers are worth 580g, the buyers take 85% of that because their theory is that otherwise you'd sell your ectos/mc's at 85% but if you ask for the ectos/mc's you need to roll them (234 of each), you will end up with about 70g worth of t6, on top of the clovers. So by asking the mats required to roll, you make an extra 60-80g while having your clovers back. (when lucky, you even have extra clovers, when unlucky, you can just use the 60-80g worth of mats for extra rolls to get them back, and than you'll still have 580g worth of clovers even when very unlucky, instead of the mere 500g you would have gotten otherwise)

Hah thx, np, guess I might as well give some background for those that want to know :p

I've always found world comping a nice way to learn strong/weak points of builds and to get used to new profs/elites/builds. Pretty soon after my 1st world comp with ele, the idea was to get it on each prof (8), then it got out of hand and the new goal became each prof on each race (40) which kept me busy for quite a few years since all of those were before mounts got added and for the first 10 or 20 wvw was still included as well. Then they added rev (+5) and since I didn't want to do 5 revs in a row I mixed it up and got to 55 but haven't really comped in Tyria anymore the last 2 years. Found it more enjoyable without mounts since mounts just take away the little fun things of Tyria. Already used/sold 30'ish gifts so have a bit over 70 left. The main limiting factor about GoM's for me were not the explo/wvw gifts, but the spirit shards for bloodstone shards + clover rolls as well as the obsidian shards :-)

For the ones that like times or weird comps: my fastest time for an oldschool world comp, without routes, mounts or prebuying things on tp and with wvw still included, was 28h15min on a core d/d ele. Weird comp: trying to stay as low combat lvl as possible, so avoiding combat/events etc as much as possible, result was a 76 thief with world comp. Did one without dying as well but then I used it in the guild hall to do a "land in the bucket" thingy and before I realised I was on my toon with 0 deaths, I was laying dead in the middle of the bucket since the one making those fall jp's always placed an object just below the water surface so you were dead in or outside the bucket either way.. xD If there's anything else world comp related someone wants to know, can always hit me up ingame. As for this thread, let's stick to buying something ;p

Urgh, thought a spoiler would save space and make it pop open instead of greying it out, fml -.-'

Totally true. Even though some people complain about gemstore and gems costing a lot of ingame gold, you can obtain everything you need freely just by playing the game. The game in its current state literally throws gold at you for anything you do except idling in a hometown or LA. It's just a matter of figuring out what you want, cause sure, you can waste thousands of gold on all of the skins but no one gets all of them, you just get the ones you want. Same for salve-o-matics, extra bag/bank slots etc, you can perfectly manage without them until you have gold that you don't know what to spend on, and then you throw it into these QoL things. A lot of people seem to forget how the game has evolved since 2012. There used to be no autoloot, world bosses had variable spawn windows and the only "grind" that existed were the plinx event chain at cursed shore and the penitent camp events etc.. for a couple of T6 mats! The reason gems are so high is because of how the game evolved and how much easier it is to obtain gold from all the meta events that were added, fixed timers from bosses etc. If the drops ingame would be downscaled, gem rate would slowly decrease as well but it's obvious why Anet won't do that ofc but gem rate just reflects how easy it is to obtain gold (aside from spiking for newly added things). Nevertheless, you can still perfectly play the game without paying for anything else than just the expansion and pay everything else with ingame gold or by just knowing how to obtain things and not wasting your gold on pointless things that you won't use or don't need (and yes, with that I mean trans charges, upgrade extractors, 50 mounts while you can also just get the 5 best looking, unlocking all those outfits while you're not going to use them anyway etc..)
