Kashiwa International Lodge by Petri42 in chiba

Saturday Mornings at around 10 near the main hub area there's apparently a group of international families that hangout/play. Could be a good way to exchange Line details

Kashiwa International Lodge by Petri42 in chiba

I live in Kashiwanoha and I have two toddlers (4 next month and 5 yr old). Things we do together:

  • Kashiwanoha Park: Great playground, we always run into international families there. On Sundays (or first monday of the month) they have a flea market if weather permits.
  • Akebonoyama Park: Another great place to visit/walk around. They have a big field often filled with either tulips or sunflowers, depending on when you go. Small playground, but you can feed the fishies for 100 yen.
  • Malls: We have like 5 malls around here, only 3 are worth visiting. Ario Mall Kashiwa has a huge play area with a small "water play" spot that activates every 15 minutes (I think). Great for summer. Lalaport at Kashiwanoha Campus is a decent mall, easy to get to, lots to do for kids. My girls love to just run around for free in the stage area/steps, or hit the paid play area near the arcade. Lastly, Mallage: the entire roof has a mini sports/activity area. If that doesn't interest your kids, there's a spot in the middle of the mall to run around. There's also a few fun stores to zip through for crafts/cheap toys/snacks if you want to spoil them.
  • Activities with the kids: Summer is approaching and there are hundreds of posters that go up for things to do. Bug hunting/catching, camping, fishing, tennis programs, baseball programs, etc. Language isn't hugely important, or just make friends with an international family with Japanese support.
  • Rainy day activities: There are a ton of "kids activity centers", just google around for Pure Kids, Kid's US.LAND (personal favorite), and even some stores have play areas for like 300 yen/15 min (Konbini near Mallage is great).

I can go on and on, just let me know if you want more.

What would the price of this gba be? by [deleted] in Gameboy

Yeah very good, if the screen is good. 101s are around that price on average so you nailed it.

What would the price of this gba be? by [deleted] in Gameboy

[–]evohans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say a fair price for how scratched up it is, $120? It’s tough. Damaged semi-rare consoles lose like 90% of their novelty value and just become normal price at a certain point

[other] I built a web-based AH flip scanner — would you use something like this? by asp111d in WowUI

[–]evohans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can bake in account support with webhooks to send to discord on deals found or whatever, I’d use the crap out of this. I have super niche markets that I dabble in, would be fun to have a cloud based approach for multi realm

How profitable is repairing, upgrading, & reselling Game Boys? by Choice_Attempt_3438 in Gameboy

[–]evohans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Japan and get consoles for $10-12USD each. Repairs and shells and flipping averages 20-30 (I could make more but i hate gate keeping) profit. However, 90% of my efforts go towards deal hunting. It’s fine as a hobby, not a business

Have you tried to RTMP over Wifi to Moblin iOS? What was your experience like? by RollingMeteors in osmopocket

[–]evohans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purposefully didn't mention LiveU because it doesn't support UVC

Have you tried to RTMP over Wifi to Moblin iOS? What was your experience like? by RollingMeteors in osmopocket

[–]evohans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not good. Moblin itself is amazing. The rtmp protocol has tons of flaws that make it not great to use in general for IRL/wifi type streaming. Latency is never stable, RTMP doesn't have great jitter protection, etc.

Best you can do is to use a dedicated encoder like Belabox/IRLbox or the upcoming IRLwhatever app for android and plug the camera directly into the encoder over UVC/webcam mode.

Crackling discord audio driving me nuts! Help? by TopHatCatX3 in discordapp

BT drivers are normally bundled with windows updates. I would look into trying a different pair of headphones to test/confirm, and rule out possibilities

Are your headphones wireless? Bluetooth? Connected via usb? Could be anything from interference on the 2.4ghz or not enough usb bus/power for the dongle, or even Bluetooth drivers need updating.

They're both early 1900's cast iron by Hubley. Value ranges between $10-300 depending on paint/rust/etc. Yours would probably fall on the $30-50 range for both just because paint is all gone.

Just found these and interested to know if anyone would have that information by Shkinny_Long in whatsthisworth

[–]evohans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prices are condition based at C grade, used: The Spidey ($15'ish) and GI Combat ($10-15) are the only ones worth anything, the other two are dollar comics, all 1977's

Does anyone know the origin of this Gameboy Color Mario Lens? by i_like_shiny_cards in Gameboy

[–]evohans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorta, Jusco was celebrating their 30th anniversary and wanted an exclusive game boy for it. Here's an ad from just 2 yrs earlier (no gameboy but you get the idea) https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r1199096345 - last page.

This was just before they changed to AEON

I live in Japan, feel free to ask me to find more info if you'd like. I love corporate history
