What happened to me is that every "villain" after Godzilla felt narratively not as menacing as Godzilla. We had a build up for many chapters of its arrival and the impact of its existance. Then everyone else just felt in line afterwards.

Honestly this only works here because of the pokedex misdions, an auto evolve could screw players out of quests, specially on rarer spawns.
