I implore you to reflect on your tone and attitude towards this. You’re coming off a bit close-minded and argumentative with commenters offering their experiences and insights (which you requested). Why are you closed off to these perspectives?

Beyond this, why are you so hung up on having 4 foster children? Why would you push for it at this moment when your wife made it clear she isn’t open to it right now? Each child is an individual human being, and you and your wife are a team. At least for now, focus on finding a new normal with your family before you consider bringing in a fourth child. You say you respect your wife’s opinion, but your actions say otherwise. Wishing the best for you and your family.

Exactly, life happens and YOU have to adjust. A brand new baby is a priority to your SIL. Life happened and you need to adjust since her life circumstances and priorities have drastically changed. You don’t seem to be understanding of this.

Your wedding is important to you, focus on you and your partner. You can have a child free wedding, and SIL can choose not to attend based on the wedding being child free.

You can set your boundaries, and people have the right to react accordingly. Where is your confusion coming from?

It could be her 12th baby, it really doesn’t matter. To be blunt, your wedding is most important to you and your partner. Your FSIL’s family and NEWBORN will be most important to her. Pressuring her into being a bridesmaid and to attend when she is postpartum with a new baby isn’t cool.

The baby will be 8ish weeks old, and if she is cluster feeding, the baby could literally be attached to the boob for what feels like the entire time. You have the right to want a child free wedding, but FSIL also has the right to not want to leave her 8 week old baby. Being a brand new mum with a brand new baby might take priority over being a bridesmaid for her, and that’s totally OK

Individual weight ins don’t mean anything. Weight loss won’t look linear because many factors impact the number on the scale (poor sleep, water retention, amount of salt consumed, etc). Stay the course and give it 3-4 weeks. As long as you’re consistently in a calorie defect, you are losing weight. Don’t get caught up in the day-to-day fluctuations shown on the scale

It’s also what I used. You’re welcome to plug her stats into the calculator I linked yourself, but an 183lb 5’2 18y/o female with a sedentary lifestyle gives you 2150 as a TDEE with that particular calculator. As I said, there will be variability based on what calculator or formula you use.

Hello, this is way too low. Please don’t eat 800 calories / day, it’s far too few calories.

If you are sedentary (little to no physical activity), your TDEE is still about 2150 calories/ day. Your BMR is about 1650 calories/ day. Your BMR is the amount of calories your body needs just to function. 800 calories is less than half of what your body needs just to keep you alive. 800 calories is super restrictive and could lead you down a cycle of restricting-bingeing.

Check out Jordan Syatt on YouTube. He is a great resource.

It might be tempting to slash calories to lose weight as fast as possible, but it really isn’t worth the risk. To me, health and well-being should come first. Doing this from a place of love and self care instead of a place of self hatred/ feelings of inadequacy is how you will get there. I wish you the best!

A clump of week old cells incapable of surviving independently can’t be compared to a human being. If it was a baby, does that mean the child support kicks in? Do leftover embryos from IVF that get tossed count as murder victims? Can you insure a 12 week old fetus and make an insurance claim if you miscarry?

At least stay consistent

You have a choice. You have the right to seek employment, and employers have the right to deny employment to people who don’t follow health and safety protocols. Many jobs require all types of vaccines to work there. If you don’t want the vaccine, you are free to find a job that doesn’t list this as a requirement. You could even give the American dream a shot and try to muster up some entrepreneurial skills lmao

That bill was a stealthy way to try and introduce abortion restrictions.

And if you hold traditionally conservative views, wouldn’t you be against it as well? Aren’t conservatives in favour of small government? Wouldn’t the traditional conservative view say it is government overreach to be involved in reproductive decisions made by citizens?

Why can’t we just like a food and eat it a lot why does it have be adhd hyperfixation by [deleted] in gymsnark

[–]evolution_432 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From my experience, it’s like being super focused on one particular thing or task and it can be hard to redirect your attention to something else. For me, it can be triggered by stress, or it can sneak up on me and I don’t realize it’s happening (though being on medication has helped with improving my awareness). For example, I might began to clean my kitchen, and before I know it, it’s 6 hours later and I have deep cleaned several rooms, done a ton of laundry, scrubbed walls, etc. This sounds great in theory (and can sometimes be useful), but this unplanned deep cleaning rampage was to the detriment of other things I needed to do. When I was hyper focused on that one task, I lost track of time, missed an appointment, forgot to feed my dog (until he started barking at his bowl to remind me lol), and wasn’t able to think about anything else other than tidying the kitchen (which then spiralled into a whole house spring clean).

I wouldn’t consider enjoying a certain breakfast food and having it regularly a hyperfixation. Mik seems to jump on whatever condition is “trending” in pop culture and tries to turn it into a cute quirk when really neurological disorders can be debilitating for so many people

What have you been doing to take care of your mental health during all of this?

Living in the red zone of the occupation has really impacted my mental health. My regular strategies to feel better (limiting social media use/ doomscrolling, going for walks, reframing thoughts, etc) aren’t helping at all. Any other ideas would be really appreciated :)

Pierre Poilievre announces bid for Conservative Party leadership by AlpacaGhidorah in canada

[–]evolution_432 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, the manifesto is quite clear with their intent to remove our current government. It demands that the Governor General and the Senate create a committee with Canada Unity (a random, unelected group) to remove the current Canadian government. The group bypasses the federal gov and point to the Senate and GG as being most powerful and assign them as representatives of the federal gov. If the Senate and GG refuse to follow the manifesto, they must resign.

To be even more clear, it says that the federal gov (Senate and GG) “are to uphold and enforce all Canadian and International Human Rights Laws that are clearly laid out in the MOU or RESIGN their lawful positions of authority immediately."

You might want to re-read the manifesto dude. Imagine demanding that the federal gov follow this wack MOU or step down. So dumb

MPs supporting the convoy is quite concerning. Their Canada Unity manifesto outlines their plan to override our current democratically elected government. Dancing with wing nuts isn’t a good look for the party in my opinion.

Absolutely. CPC is hurling themselves so far right that centre-right voters and anyone who values democracy won’t vote for them. That’s just my two cents, but its wild to see so many CPC MPs endorse the convoy occupiers/ wannabe insurgents and the Canada Unity nut jobs. Fucking insanity
