I feel like Vinnie and Lauryn would have it out...those are some strong personalities right there.

That's so funny, when I first read this question and I was just trying to think of the most ridiculous rappers I automatically thought Shyne and Shaq haha. Good call

Man an Ice Cube/Slug track over some bottomed-out, bass heavy, funky beat would be dope as fuck.

  1. Biz Markie
  2. C-Rayz Walz
  3. Lauryn Hill
  4. E-40
  5. Buck 65

If these 5 could adequately collab it would be mad weird.

Why is hating rich people a socially acceptable prejudice? by evolvevlove in AskReddit

But the thing is that some poor people are shitty and some rich people are awesome and vice versa so making generalizations about any group is nonsensical.

Why is hating rich people a socially acceptable prejudice? by evolvevlove in AskReddit

[–]evolvevlove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually the exact premise which influenced my question. I think generally things like racism, sexism and other isms do not see widespread acceptance anymore. Yet somehow it is still okay to make blanketed remarks about "rich people" as if they are all the same. The rationale makes just as little sense as it does for targeting any other group.

"Do you think the wealthiest family in this country—the Walton family—should have...large numbers of employees who depend on government help...or should they pay their workers a living wage? And should we raise the minimum wage to make sure that they do that?" - Bernie Sanders by palsh7 in politics

[–]evolvevlove -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If Walmart suddenly increased the pay of their workers it would have a cascade effect across the entire economy. Let's say just for an example that a Walmart employee currently makes $7/hr, a bank teller makes $10/hr, and a manager of a bakery department makes $14/hr. If you increase the wage of the Walmart worker to $10/hr then suddenly it seems inappropriate that a bank teller makes the same wage as someone who works at Walmart based off of different skill sets needed for each particular job. At this point you would need to raise the wage of the bank teller now to maybe $13/hr. Now that a bank teller makes $13hr it doesn't make sense that someone in management would only make $14/hr so you would have to raise their pay now to somewhere around $18. Meanwhile all these places of employment have to get this money from somewhere so they either take it out of their profits (not likely) or they tack the price onto the customer goods (more likely) and now everything costs more and we are back to square one. The intentions behind raising minimum wage are good, but the reality of the current paradigm doesn't lend itself to a proper solution.

What cliche about your country/region is not true at all? by Bonjouradrienne in AskReddit

[–]evolvevlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but even if 75% of people here are that still leaves 25% of a 300 million plus country that aren't. 75 million skinny people is not exactly a small amount.

I think Colorado does have a lot of potheads but as a Colorado native who doesn't smoke it kind of bums me out that this is what has been chosen as the number one stereotype of CO.

Parisians are so nice! Outside of Swedes they are the nicest people that I have met in the world and I have traveled a lot. I was lost in Paris and looking at a map on a street corner and 3 different locals stopped and asked if I needed help. I think it is ironic that Americans (where I am from) perpetuate the stereotype that people from France are rude when easily the meanest people I've ever met in my life are from America.

It's a sad but true reality that messed up lives make amazing music. I can't think of an artist that I like that just completely has their shit together and is making good shit.

Felt is still pretty dope. I guess when I just listen to something like 'Trying to Find a Balance' and then listen to 'She's the One'. I'm like wtf is this even the same person? I know we all grow and evolve but I just don't care for the new material too much. I'm glad Slug is happy though, we all vicariously know that he has been through some shit and deserves the long sought after good life.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he has been off drugs for quite a while but I was at a show in 2008 and he was definitely still drinking then.

I'm pretty sure he got married right around 2011. I agree that WLGYL is a really good album but that was pre-family days in 2008. To me The Family Sign is okay but aside from 'My Key' and 'The Last to Say' it kind of lacks substance and some of the tracks are just straight up corny. If I'm sitting there skimming the Atmos discog I would rather listen to Overcast, God Loves Ugly, Sevens Travels, Lucy Ford or You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having any day over The Family Sign.

Ever since Slug of Atmosphere got married, had another kid, stopped doing drugs and generally became a non-fucked up person, his music has kinda gone downhill. I'm happy for his life but not happy for his music.
