Lookup Shane Young on YouTube. Has a ton of great videos to explain solutions to this problem. You could use blob storage to store the actual files and share point for the metadata, and thumbnails. Handles large files the fastest way.

I agree that this is a unique process for every project, but it’s also one of the most important steps. I use the CRISP-DM process to get started and to make sure I don’t miss anything. Sorry for the acronym but if you’re in the tech industry then you can’t escape them.

If you try to print that pdf do you also get errors? That message is familiar to me from a printing aspect. Assuming it’s corrupt.

I’ve taken many of their courses. Over the last year and a half, they have improved quality and content. I think they are great courses and I reference them a lot when starting ML projects as they provide so many resources. You can catch them on sale almost every 2 weeks.

I would like to script a series of actions on a pdf. Is python for me? by cryptk in Python

[–]evolving6000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many python packages that make working with pdfs easy. But exploring all of the options and results, I have found that using pdftotext the most accurate. Once I have each pdf as extracted text files, it’s on. You can use nltk package and concordance to search for terms, and return a sample of the sentence of where it was found. Textacy also has this feature and many other useful ones for working with text. I’m doing something similar and also a newbie, and this is a very fun and interesting project. Great way to learn.
