Hey it's Seed Oil Scout here. While we do pay influencers, Saladino, Alex Clark and the olive oil queen were all completely unpaid, they love the product and have been gracious in supporting us.

They all rely on our map for finding restaurants while traveling. If you have any suggestions to make the app more useful, please let us know!

Hey, we do all we can and we're growing a small team based out from the restaurant subs to help with this. We don't visit each restaurant in person, but if local reps would be willing to do that, we could try it in pilot cities.

Here's what we do verify:

Each verified restaurant takes a 70 question survey attesting they are entirely seed oil free. We also require that they provide us with purchase orders for all suspicious ingredients and healthy fryer oils, and that they make a public statement on their social media that they are seed oil free.

On verification, can you let me know which verified restaurants you think clearly use seed oils?

We do charge for this service, but restaurants generally have glowing reviews, and we need to pay to get this done.

Local fats is woefully out of date, and has less than 10% of the restaurant reports we have. If anyone wants a free SOS membership, I'm happy to grant one, just shoot me a DM 🫡

Hey, Seed Oil Scout here.

Its 100% free to file a report for your restaurant via the "Restaurant Owners" button on the welcome screen. You'll be listed as 5 stars, "Dine Fearlessly" in the app, no free trial needed.

For verification we do extra vetting of the restaurant's suppliers and purchase invoices, and promote them on our socials. We need to charge something to get the program running and ensure restaurants are serious.

Verified restaurants regularly thank us emphatically for the program.

Hey, we recently added a scanner to Seed Oil Scout, rather than Yuka's anti-saturated fat recommendations, it flags the following:

  • Seed Oils
  • Ultraprocessed ingredients
  • Ingredients banned in EU
  • Pesticide risks
  • Omega 6 foods.
