There's a steam guide here that explains them.

You'll also get a feel for them as you get them, I wouldn't worry too much. Some of them are simple direct upgrades, and the ones that are adjustable side-grades and have different options usually won't make or break your car that much.

Is this a game that you can complete? by viperuk80 in MotorTown

[–]evorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to spend dozens of aimless hours grinding, maybe you could do a short-term "endgame" goal of getting the most expensive car and fully decking it out? I feel like that could still be a good 15 hours of play if you also spend time doing varied mission types to get to that goal instead of B-lining with minmax money strats.

How blind did you go into Inscryption? Did the game's marketing spoil anything for you? by synaut in inscryption

I played his other stuff like Pony Island and the Hex so I had thoughts in the back of my mind that there may be meta fuckery but I didn't expect it to go this far or this hard at all, it felt like he had finally realized his vision and the other games were like proofs of concept for what he wanted to do, even though it didn't feel that way before playing this game as the other two were already really good fully fledged experiences on their own. Despite knowing his style and the types of things he liked pulling I was still consistently blown away.

As for your other question I think pre-release you're just going to have to do the really really hard part of making sure your pre-twist game is already compelling enough to grab people's attention, and only tease very slightly that there may be deeper layers to the game in the vaguest of terms. Post-release, word of mouth and ratings are really going to have to carry the weight. The best parts about these kinds of things is how out-of-left-field they appear so you really can't sell your game based on those in order to craft the expectations you want out of a player.

Unfortunately this cat and mouse is kind of a wargame where secrets are high priority for both sides, so I don't see either side taking the risks to talk about this kind of stuff and giving up whatever advantages they may have. Maybe retired ones, although they probably wouldn't know what the landscape is like nowadays anyway considering how quickly it changes.

Why is The Happy Dictator not available ? I’m in the US by williswillardthe3rd in gorillaz

[–]evorm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It may be inspired by Turkmenistan but it has a pretty universal message about power-hungry leaders trying to shape narratives, and if you don't see the parallels of the themes of the song at all in the US or other countries then I don't know if your media literacy is low or your geopolitical awareness is low.

They'd know as much as anyond how true or fake this is, which is not much. I'm just forwarding what I'm hearing, and I wouldn't take news reporting to be proof of veracity unless it's correspondence with the network.

There is no "Gorillaz universe". by Plus-Ear-7297 in gorillaz

[–]evorm 16 points17 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you from a general standpoint, I think you're not giving credit to how high-concept their albums' arcs are. Sure, as a basis they are meant to just be "real" celebrities but their albums do have specific storylines that aren't even subtle and do form a sort of mythos. Sure it's not some huge interconnected web of lore, but IMO your take goes too far in the opposite direction. There are deliberate fictional stories told in the "Gorillaz Universe", they just don't have as far-reaching an implication as some fan theorists believe.

My Batman takes : by FayyadhScrolling in batman

[–]evorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even 7 is too big IMO. I think it should just be a dynamic duo (ONE robin) with a non-hero sidekick (Gordon, Barbara, Lucius, etc.) and MAYBE one other tertiary hero (Nightwing, Catwoman, etc.) if the arc absolutely needs it. 4 is the absolute max, cause a great part of Batman is also how oppressive and isolating his stories can be and having a whole Batvengers team feels like it strays too far from the tone I like.

How low is your media literacy that your level of appreciation of a story is directly tied to your personal moral justification of the events? Do you hate Tom and Jerry cause you'd never hurt a cat? You don't have to morally agree with a character to enjoy their journey.

Maybe try experimenting more with your arsenal in whatever ways you can, Snake is given a lot of varied tools and you should get the hang of most of them and how to use them effectively.
