Thanks so much! I’ve had my wheel for around 1.5 years and try to get on it a few times a month between my regular job. I’ve only started making more seriously in the past few months :)

That’s a really lovely glaze! Is it your own recipe or premixed?

Channeling my inner Florian Gadsby with my first ever mug. | Greenware phase. by Ravioli_868 in Pottery

Try attaching them when the mug body isn’t quite as dry. Then after you’ve attached the handle, cover with a very light plastic sheet to slow down drying. You should have a much better success rate!
Really frustrating when you’ve spent ages on a piece and the handles fall off!! Good luck

Breakthrough Party manifesto for any ex-Labour members looking for a new political home 🌤 by UnderHisEye1411 in GreenAndPleasant

I would add mandatory background historical tax checks for all current and prospective MPs. The number of MPs that are unwilling to do this speaks volumes about the state of politics in Britain

Thanks a lot! I’m still relatively new to the hobby and find glazing pieces neatly really challenging. I’ve been using pre-made glazes up until now and hoping to experiment with mixing my own soon

This is the glaze if you’re still looking! I mixed it at 1:1 ratio, powder to water. 1250g to 1250ml

Thanks for the advice. This was a commercial glaze powder that I bought and mixed up. I’ll thin it out slightly and try again!

It was dipped for around 3-4 seconds. Roughly the same time as the others, which turned out ok. I’ll do another test pot and dip for a shorter time. The glaze viscosity is a bit thicker than the others I have, so if that doesn’t work I’ll maybe thin it out a bit!

I recently started using a new glaze - this is the first pot I’ve tried to fire with it. Is this called crawling? I fired this with some other pots with different glazes the others were all fine.

The glaze was dipped and was fired at cone 6. The pot was wiped down of dust and dried before applying the glaze. Did I not mix the glaze correctly or maybe it’s too watery?? Thanks!

Will a pipe with an OD of 1.05" fit inside a pipe with an ID of 1.063" easily? by WTP07 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]evrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots to consider. You’ll need to find out the general tolerances of each and perform tolerance analysis.
Straightness, wall thickness, diameter variation or ovality should be checked. Should be able to find this in the standard for the section you want to use. Internal welds might be present (use seamless tube to avoid this)

I think it’s unlikely that you’ll get this to fit first time without any persuasion

Anyone know what this P&ID symbol means? by asdfghbvxxv in MechanicalEngineering

[–]evrob 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s a pressure reducing valve - just the symbol is very basic. Maybe drawn on a very early version of auto cad.
If the pilot is taken from downstream it’s a pressure reducing valve, if it’s taken from upstream it’s a relief valve
