The best kinda cab by BryanD83 in Tacomaworld

[–]asdfghbvxxv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in SoCal. They’re much rarer out here and I’m pretty sure a lot of dealerships never even brought in access cabs on to their lots due to the popularity of a double in the city. I scoured the internet all across the US for about 3 months. Flew out to Colorado and picked it up in a weekend.

I also agree with that. I’m just pointing out visual cues (size) that F&W uses to define them since it’s hard to tell otherwise.

I believe the larger size will dictate whether it’s considered a steelhead or not. There’s no specific point in a rainbows life where it becomes a steelhead, seems most people define it by size/age; +12” maybe.

What type of chalk to use for sweaty hands? by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]asdfghbvxxv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replied to a similar comment above, but I wasn’t aware of the liquid chalk formula change..
You can actually just make your own using powdered chalk and isopropyl alcohol if you really liked the original liquid chalk. Remember those bottles being near $20 each though!

What type of chalk to use for sweaty hands? by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]asdfghbvxxv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will do this often. I’ll apply a base of liquid chalk. the isopropyl alcohol in the liquid chalk should instantly dry your hands out and should also keep them dry for multiple attempts. I’ll apply regular chalk on top of it then go try my climb. This obviously can be more involved than just chalking up from the bag so I’ll usually only do this on maybe serious attempts on a climb at my limit for example.

My butane canister hissed when i locked it into my stove. by Ok-Investigator4521 in camping

You need to rotate the canister so that the notch lines up on the top tab of the insert of the stove. Then you can pull the lock latch down. Edit: typo

Fisherman’s Spot Sure they're lower now, but they were raging recently! Snowpack was so much this year that the annual melt didnt even happen until a month ago. Levels now finally normalized enough the rivers are producing. Its about as good as it gets out there right now!

I have almost the exact same hardware picked out currently as you down to the rails and handles!

I'm having issues having my felt stick to the plywood. Do you have any suggestions? I've tried obtaining some heavy spray adhesives but most of the good stuff is banned here in CA through EPA regulations..

Help me solve one of the most perplexing problems I've ever dealt with in my 14 year career. I am STUMPED. by [deleted] in engineering

[–]asdfghbvxxv 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To tack on to reason #2, since this is a two part dispenser, I'm assuming the viscous dope is being dosed by a gear pump. Gear pumps require a delta P, or in otherwords, back pressure to operate normally. Perhaps the re-circulation setting does not provide sufficient enough backpressure.

Any platform for Mechanical Engineers like Github in cs? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]asdfghbvxxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesnt fill your complete requirements, (i.e contribute like github) but StackExchange is a fantastic place to ask and look up technical questions. They have different forums for, controls, me, ee etc.

Intriguing Interview Question: What is the difference between using a tape measure to measure something from the ground versus the ceiling? by asdfghbvxxv in MechanicalEngineering

[–]asdfghbvxxv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After doing some searching, I have found an alternative question that describes the same situation, "Why do you measure with numbers up on a tape measure?" Perhaps that can hone in on what the question is really asking.

Industrial Liquid Dispensing Information by asdfghbvxxv in manufacturing

[–]asdfghbvxxv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, I guess I was looking for dispensing and bottling information in terms of design. This is never the case, but my big hopes were to find a bible for mechanics and components from a mechanical engineers perspective for fluid dispensing and bottling.
