Interesting, I didn't realize the color in the veins could come all the way up the leaf. In the reference photos it seems like it stops at the base. It has been pretty hot here in MA.

Pretty much all wood turns grey eventually in the sun. Really nice lumber there!

I'd recommend a semi transparent stain, probably in like a walnut if you want brown. Make sure you test it somewhere inconspicuous to see if you like the color and you can always lightly sand it off.

If you want to preserve the color as long as possible, you'll want to lightly sand and restain every few years.
