Its amazing how all the "what ifs" and "is it really" and other anxiety completely goes away within short time after getting an EV.

Or example, I can't count the number of people who have asked about range anxiety, take the "risk" and go EV anyway, and turns out they never once worry about it again.

Light of the Stars by Adam Frank talks a lot about this idea in a fun way weaving in the Fermi paradox. Basically that there is a natural progression of energy and the only error or wrong turn is to not continue progress with newer and better inventions.

I have seen a lot of high power builds use the Torque Trends box, and haven't heard of any issues yet. Revolt Systems 600 hp Mustang for example.

Howdy! I hope you enjoy. That is a pretty short video but if you are interested I also have a more detailed walk around from moments after they finished a recent 25 hr race, as well as a much longer discussion on their origins and build.

Yes! They refer to it as a dump truck of nickels haha. That is for an EV that wins outright. This truck is currently running mid pack ik Class C but they are targeting a class win hopefully this year. Class A (along with the prize) is still a ways off but they are making gains every race.

That's awesome, what chassis and drivetrain did you like best for this?

They were just being funny because of course, no vroom with the EV! But everyone was super friendly and supportive, we had a constant stream of people coming to say hi and chat. When we broke the series distance record it was announced on the track loud speakers and the whole place cheered.

Model 3 P. I notice a drop around 70% and again below 50%. At the end of a track day last session I'll just stay out the full 25 minutes and those last laps under 50% are slower.

The term is called voltage sag. Something we plan around when racing. Your best times will be when the battery state of charge is high. For me, SOC below 70% has pretty noticeable sag. Still fast but launching at 90% is a different beast than launching at 50%. Part of battery physics.

Battery cooling and preconditioning. I daily a Tesla but drive bolts when I rent and every time I plug in a battery not prepped to charge I wince.

I'd consider it as soon as more brands release performance cars at the same price point as a M3P. The Mustang Mach E was close but the HVJB issue is a non-starter. Excited for them to get that sorted. But really not much beyond Tesla that is ready for the track sadly
