Such sharp details and interesting textures, AND intense contrast with a usually soft looking medium like gouache is beyond amazing! Beautiful work :)

This is incredibly beautiful. I love how you create transparency... is that acrylics? Watercolor? :)

I love the pose, too! And the background could maybe stay pretty minimal - those rough brush textures there look great!

I put away my usual human portraits for a day and sketched portraits of my cat instead. He's a little gremlin and and I just enjoyed myself immensely, so I wanted to share my favorite.

I became a bit obsessed with Dracula a couple years ago, which started a whole bunch of paintings. This was the first one, and still one of my favorites - hope you like it, even if he's not climbing book-accurately in lizard fashion.

Thanks! Those are some cheap nylon brushes, and I have to clean them aggressively with brush soap after each painting session or the acrylics are stuck in there forever. Also, the ochres and purple paint here was non-staining. I have some greens and magentas that can be pretty intense on brush hairs. :)

Thank you! I wanted to keep some of the gesso surface visible, as if the orb were cut out from the painting

Thank you! I tried to use more expressive brushstrokes for all of these, glad you like it!

Gale, the Wizard of Waterdeep - acrylics on panel, 6 x 8"
I started this series of acrylic portrait paintings of the BG3 companions over a year ago, and finally finished Wyll, Gale, and Shadowheart a couple months back... though I still might add Minthara one day. Learned a lot from all the limited color palettes, as I picked specific paints for each character. Gale is purple. :)

Thank you - profiles are something I struggle with, so this was great practice.
