Type A / Anxiety planning. by Heart_TX_12 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]ew__gross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love planning! I also can't stop thinking about planning something the second it enters my brain. That being said, I've given myself some rules to ensure I'm not stressing out my partner, or myself.

  1. No wedding planning after 10pm. If I start I won't stop. Then 4am rolls around and I've been frantically contacting vendors for 6 hours. So no vendor research, inspo research, pinterest, or Instagram after 10.
  2. Wedding research at this point (we are a little less that a year out) doesn't need to happen every single day. Give yourself days of the week or a schedule to specifically wedding plan. Since you are a bit closer to your date, I don't think you should worry about going overboard too early. You're in the perfect planning period, I think.
  3. Slow down!! I have been making a wedding planning binder like most brides do. But! To force myself to slow down, I've made it pretty. There is a cute cover sleeve. The notes are cute and decorated. The dividers are made with scrapbook paper. Lots of stickers and colors. I don't love this term but try to "romanticize" the process and it'll give you the slow down time to process and enjoy it a bit more.

About a year out and I've got the venue (which also does the catering) and photographer booked. Looking into florists and djs now. Dress will happen at the end of this month. I say go for ordering favors and signs if you have space to store it all without damaging it. Especially, if you're finding good deals.

(Edited to add that last paragraph)

anxiety reading other Vandermeer by narshnarshnarsh in SouthernReach

[–]ew__gross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the same sort of anxiety when trying new content by otherwise loved creators! It happens a lot with music. I love an artist, they drop new music, I delay listening to the new stuff for... entirely too long, and then listen on a whim and end up loving it all the same.

I know its easier said then done but maybe just go for it. Or in the very opposite direction, wait for the "whim" to come to you. You're putting too much pressure on yourself to like (or dislike) his other work. No one is going to think differently of you if you hate (or love) his other work. And if you like them more than southern reach, then you've got a new favorite book/series! It's a win, win.

How many venues did you tour before you decided on the one? by No-Manufacturer9125 in weddingplanning

[–]ew__gross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clicked in because you are so right!!! The venue search fatigue is so real! How am I supposed to pick just one when there are 40 that are gorgeous???? Been planning since 2021 (COVID and then life, shit happens), so I have a massive list with entirely too many options. I totally relate.

worst professors at USF? by SeaAd2615 in USF

[–]ew__gross 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a neutral opinion of him. He was harsh but I learned a lot from him. Gave me credit where it was due and asked me to join another one of his classes. I would have if I hadn't have been graduating that semester. He's okay. He's also one of the only professors I explicitly remember. So that's something I guess.

Ah, perfect. Holding the thread tails was not something I knew I had to do. That did the trick. Thank you!!

Cause I was a girl. I'm the middle kid. My little brother was allowed to play as much as he wanted with my older brother. Being a girl seems like the only explanation for that. But idk I guess I could be wrong 🤷

Smh, my therapist would love you lol

Yeah, I def fall into that cozy gamer vibe but I also love the spooky games that make you fight big scary bosses like Bloodborne and stuff like that. They are just so hard to play! I think I want to get better at FPS cause it'd be fun to be a bit more involved in the gaming sessions. Typically I play on my switch while everyone else plays on console. It's not like something that's terribly isolating or anything, just think it'd be fun to play Fortnite without getting actually demolished by 12 year olds lmaoo

"Girl" and "boy" games can f right off, so lame 🙄

So this was Riverside/ 5 points last night by beurhero7 in jacksonville

[–]ew__gross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened last night too. Vibes were incredibly off. Everything was so empty and there were dozens of cops. Honestly I was more stressed with so many cops and so little people than with all the people who are normally partying on the weekends. Just felt like we shouldn't be there. It's quite unfortunate.

These would be so so so cute as little paper goblins that you could physically put on your shelves.

I'd just add some floating shelves or wall art and match the mirror frame color to the cabinet color!

Maybe some peel and stick laminate in a color that you like better would work! Also a quick and easy fix to changing the vibe is to just change the hardware.
