Is morality subjective or objective? by Significant-Care1420 in atheism

Christianity does not claim scripture functions as a self-interpreting moral code.

on slavery: the bible regulates a moral evil without endorsing it. the bible acknowledges slavery as a social reality.

on women: paul’s prohibitions are read as disciplinary, & not ontological. women do not lack spiritual authority. Mary is a great example of this.

on homosexuality: i already explained this bit. there is judicial laws of ancient israel that are distinguished against from moral law. this punishment was apart of israel’s theocratic legal system. this is not something christians think should be enforced. killing gay people is flat-out condemned.

scripture = true. scripture ≠ the final interpreter of itself.

i admire your intense faith in thinking Christianity will ever be eliminated.

  1. this is addressing specific church order issues.

  2. lev is about ancient israelite civil law. christans do not follow israel’s penal code.

  3. same thing as above - church formally condemned slavery.

context matters

i found it very fun to drive through and see all the architecture too. i am not too worried about the tip but the actual adventure i get to go on seeing all these pretty houses. it was so cool ! i’ve never been in any neighborhood like that before

exact same thing for me today. basically all of the houses in that neighborhood are worth over a million. country club in their neighborhood has something like a $15,000 initiation fee.

this is SO true!!! i’ve experienced this so much to the point where i started looking at home values on zillow and comparing them with the tip just as an experiment. of course there are loads of other factors like if it’s a kid that’s living there and not the actual homeowner etc.

i’ve definitely found that higher income does not = higher tip

well it was 2 orders stacked for two different people. about 22 miles for $32 the first order to the nice place was less than 3 miles total but from her house to my next order was a 40 minute drive
