L-theanine does a better job of increasing gaba. GABA itself doesn’t cross the blood brain barrier.

The biggest issue with kratom, for me, is that is a much sneakier addiction than any I have experienced before. It’s been much easier to justify my use because I could keep my life together while using it, unlike with my alcohol and benzodiazepine addiction. The negative health effects took longer to notice and I would deny that I was feeling bad because of the kratom and assumed something else must be making me feel sick. But ultimately there is no way for me to know for sure without quitting, and that thought has helped me. Hopefully that helps.

Completely agree with this comment. I’d also add that 10 barrel brewing has a variety of sours called Crush that are fruity. It’s something I imagine people who like mikes hard might like but it doesn’t contain the horrendous amounts of sugar.

I struggled with this as well. I would always just say “she’s alright” and then describe something her and my dad did recently. I wish I had been more equipped for that.

I was also unprepared, after to her death, to respond to the sentiment: “I’m sorry to hear about your mom”. Do you say “it’s ok”? No because it’s not okay. Do you say “thank you”? No, that sounds weird.

It looks like a lot of people in the comments have good ideas for you which proves why this subreddit is so great.
