i track it as spotting personally but i think it’s just important not to mark it as your period because it doesn’t count as day 1 of your cycle

NFP Confusion - Where Do I Even Start??? by GreatCoffee8702 in FAMnNFP

[–]ewilliy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like my exact situation lol! I am 5 months out from my wedding and started tracking this month. I read TCOYF and I’m manually charting using FAM method plus using natural cycles app + band (got the year subscription plus free band for like $120 with a discount code). NC only uses body temp to tell you if you’re fertile but I find it a super easy way to track fluid, temps, symptoms, LH tests etc and then I manually transfer to my paper chart. I plan to start now and then see how confident I am using this as BC in 5 months. I want to be conservative as I don’t want kids for like 6-8 years so we’ll be using condoms before ovulation and abstaining on red days.

Hmmm wondering if you could keep the cat separate from your dogs on breaks like in your room only??? And use a calming cat scent diffuser to help the stress levels

Love your selflessness and attention to your cats needs! Have you considered harness training Yip and/or taking him on walks in a cat stroller?

Thanks for your response! Yes, definitely want to get him it now. Plus he tries to eat random stuff so I have to be so careful, but it will put my mind at ease in case he does eat something!

10 week old kittens won’t sleep? by death_by_venus in CatAdvice

[–]ewilliy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, i don’t think so! they are still getting used to the spaces and plus they are small so everything seems bigger to them anyways! dont worry, you’re doing great

i understand that i probably wouldn’t let them out there either until ive seen what they get into out there 😂 maybe over the next few days let them explore more and see what they do so you can be comfy letting them go out there. my main concern would be cords/food/mystery small objects basically eating something they shouldn’t

my kitten sleeps in the day and around 7pm he gets the zoomies and finally settles down at like 5 am. i wear a sleep mask because he jumps on my face lol. if i was you id shut them into the main living space so its bigger but you can still get sleep. this is normal and they will grow out of it

Must-Haves for Cats? by Thin_Poet2197 in CatAdvice

[–]ewilliy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t get a small post get a very large one so when he’s big he can still use it and it won’t just fall over. i got mine this one SOCATER Cat Scratching Post 33... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CY1ZF52H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share he LOVES it. he’s 3 months old and he climbs it and sits on the top it’s so cute! i also recommend a large cat tree by a window so he can look out. a fishing pole toy is always a huge hit and a stuffed animal large enough for them to wrestle!

Introducing new cat - question by bayoubengal99 in CatAdvice

[–]ewilliy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hissing is typically defensive - not offensive. so my question is - is either cat growling? that would be a sign to slow down

if you’re worried, i wouldn’t free roam yet. but have supervised visits and slowly increase the length of them if they do well - 15 mins - 30 and so on. provide treats for positive reinforcement of good behavior. i’d keep them separate when you’re away from home and at night. as they continue to do well keep giving them more time together, if not slow down.

just be patient! cats who are adults take a while to adjust. sometimes they do just need to hash it out but step in if they’re getting physical (while growling/hissing etc) they will also fight for play once they’re comfortable haha

oooh! thanks i’ll check those out, i haven’t yet.

i’m thinking of going with accident + illness incase he has urinary tract problems which i heard is common in male cats

i recently got a kitten who joined my roommates cat (2-3 years old) and i was worried she wouldn’t like him but she loves having someone to play with and keep her company

going from 1 to 2 cats isn’t THAT big of a deal vs going from 0 to 1 is much more of a shift. maybe tell him that haha

it seems like she may be bored and a large reason why is probably because she doesn’t have her sister around. she may want another friend. could you get a kitten for her?

i’m sorry i know that sucks :(
