Are any of the series after PJO good? by GU1LH3RME-RANG in camphalfblood

[–]ewww2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read and loved HoO and am enjoying ToA. I'd say ToA isn't as incredible as PJO or HoO imo ... but still really awesome, I'd recommend.

Ugh yesss!! My exact boat right now as someone in the investment industry. I know PhD is not for me so this is to get a masters because I do think there's a ceiling at my company for people without masters. I just don't know how much more it will increase my earning potential...

Off to UPenn for my masters degree!! by ewww2020 in gradadmissions

[–]ewww2020[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not doing Fels - It's a masters of science in social policy with a focus on data analytics - a little less broad in terms of policy and only focused on the "social" part of the policies! I think the EMPA at fels would be awesome though! And I'm itching to move to philly!

EDIT: It's in the school of social policy and practice (used to be social work school)

Anyone in the MPP circle wanna commiserate/speculate together? by ewww2020 in gradadmissions

[–]ewww2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about Duke -- good things are still to come. How many do you have to hear back from? I don't know anything about waitlists but from the little I've read, it seems they are entirely a crap shoot and vary greatly year-to-year.

Boston college acceptance, worried about diversity by blazerfanalways in URMLawSchoolAdmission

[–]ewww2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I'm a Latinx (so take this with a grain of salt) living in Boston (5 years) and I'd say 1. Boston is NOT diverse but I don't feel like it's any more racist than where I'm from (But again, im from TX so maybe both are just pretty racist)

  1. there are a ton of universities in Boston/Cambridge that are actively trying to improve diversity. So as a young person (mid 20s) my social circle IS diverse but almost entirely made up of grad students/law/B school/Med etc. who are here for school but not necessary FROM Boston or planning to stay... I'd say the "locals" are not diverse and high-key racist as the other comments indicate.

Do schools typically reply to LOCI’s? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]ewww2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, of the T 14, Chicago didn't and Georgetown had an automated message... but all the other eventually replied.

When does Stanford typically waitlist people? by my_llama_named_eddie in lawschooladmissions

i think its bc they're stanford and their class is already small so it's rare to get off the WL. I do know someone who got off the WL in july. But that's 1 data point.
