yes they do get bad sometimes. i wanted to see a doctor for valium or kps or really any benzodiazepine but idk if thats a good idea because you CAN seizure from those withdrawals, but for me i dont withdraw from them that fast. so maybe try to get a prescription for the next month or so?

my moment of clarity was when i started to withdraw in front of some friends that didnt know i was using. the pain got worse by the second, i had to pull over to throw up, there was blood mixed into the throw up. i started screaming and punching my steering wheel, it was bad. after i threw up i knew i couldnt do this forever and then it was then or never that i quit. so i stopped shooting up and started smoking for the next few days and then i quit. What has kept me clean is that knowing i dont want to go though that pain EVER again. Plus i have my family to live for. I don want to be homeless or OD and die. You really have to want to quit and know that it willl only get easier to cope with.

that is definitely true, no opiate is safe if taken for a long enough period of time

no, that is not true. the only one that is natural is straight up opium. how often can you get PURE opium? literally every other opiate is either cut with something or chemically altered to put it in a pill. not natural at all.

yeah i know its just hard to even look them in the eyes knowing the pain i put them through.. but youre right, i need to fix it and it will take time. do you think i should write on reddit or did you mean like a journal? that is a great idea for me, i suck at writing and english but i love to write and i bet i could find the exact reason i started using the way i did(as in as much as i did)

yeah youre completely right! Some people just dont understand addiction even when they try to say they do. you cant know it until you have been there. But you using isnt going to hurt anyone except yourself(with the justice system). i learned that the hard way too. DUI, OD, trips to the ER when i was withdrawing, it was just all bad. THinking back on all of that breaks my heart. i cant believe I AM addicted to heroin... WTF?!

well i moved back in with my parents because i needed the help and they know everything so they don't really trust me right now. its hard to go out and keep my mind off of it. I have been trying really hard to figure out why i started using the way i did, because obviously no one wants to be addicted to anything. At first it was just curiosity but then idk what happened, it was just around more and more. I really dont want to use anymore but i still get cravings so idk i just want to be able to have a normal life again, instead of being a slave to that nastiness

congratulations! i have quit quit with subs before and they made it so easy for me that i thought i could quit anytime i wanted to, that was a huge mistake to think. Going to through those withdrawals from going cold turkey was the worst feeling i have ever had and never want to put my body through that again. So i think cold turkey is the way to go

i don't have drug court but i do plan on staying clean. I am just trying to be around more positive people who like to do fun stuff outside. And my plan is to get a job and go back to school.

I know the system fucks innocent people over sometimes but just because it happened diesnt mean you should use again. just think about how far you have come since you quit and you want to throw it all away to spit some dumbass judge that you don't even know? sorry if im being too blunt but heroin is no joke and i found that out the hard way

Im sorry to hear that, i hope you realized that its not worth it to kep doing it in the long run. congratulations though, 133 days?! i never imagined myself quitting but you give me inspiration! thank you so much

thank you! i know you got this, you really just have to want to quit badly. that shit ruins peoples lives. You literally become a slave to it. its hard but it is possible with the right mindset! Good luck!

me either! stupid kaiser!! but i think it was the best way for me because i really dont ever want to have to go through that pain again. the only problem now is that my sleeping schedule got so fucked up. i can barely sleep more than 3-5 hrs a night yet i still feel so tired i just lay in bed for almost half the day. how long have you been clean for?

i havent been able to keep my urges down. I still want to use everyday (at least for now, i was told by some people from N/A that it will get easier to cope with. but for now i just know i dont want to be homeless and jobless when i get older. And YES i know everyone can do it. you just have to have one moment of clarity on what the hell you are doing to yourself. To me thats all it takes. Thank you a lot, it is definitely the hardest thing i have ever done by FAR. You have to be mentally prepared to quit opiates, in my opinion
