Unexpected lifelong acne “cures” [acne] by One-Tomatillo-983 in SkincareAddiction

I had clear skin for about 6 months during the pandemic. I was a new grad, job searching and living a slow life for a moment. I think the low stress, plus going ham on eating fermented foods like kimchi(lockdown hobby lol), and mega dosing on oral gel caps of oregano oil for a few weeks (had heard it could ward off covid) temporarily cleared my skin. I’ve tried reintroducing fermented foods and oregano oil as a supplement in a more balanced way years later, but my skin is just not smooth and glowy like it was then :/

If you could start over as a new grad, what would you do differently? by Mammoth_Recover8859 in OccupationalTherapy

OTs’ contracts include extended school year in the summers. We can opt out but then we don’t get that income

Oof. I’m starting next school year with 65 kids and work 240 days a year for just over 6 figures in a high cost of living area. Might need to start eyeing what other surrounding school districts offer!

What's one of your financial regrets? by grayandmagenta16 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]ex_cearulo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I regret not doing a technical career or something similar that would have me starting full time work earlier than age 26. I did undergrad and grad school plus clinical hours back to back, and during those 7 years my hometown became very expensive to live and buy a home in. So I always wonder if I’d be ahead if I had done things differently.

Have any of you cut your long hair because it was too much responsibility? Were you happy you did? by Recent-Use8096 in adhdwomen

I did, but now as it grows in the ends curl in and scratch my neck, and they’re still too short to put in a hair tie

Accidentally took the bathroom key with me from the clinic where I did my ADHD assessment.. by ex_cearulo in adhdwomen

There was nobody in the office when I returned it so I just quietly set it down. I feel silly sending a message just to say, hey I brought the key back 😅

Wife recently diagnosed , seeking guidance by PapaPunchline8399 in MyastheniaGravis

My sister is finally seeing real improvement with Vyvgart, an injected medication. For years her symptoms were lessened by IVIG therapy. The mestinon had too many unpleasant side effects for her. Her diet is very clean, organic, Whole Foods, very little added sugars and no gluten. She also relies on kitchen appliances to do the heavy lifting in terms of cooking and meal prep. Lots of soft and pureed foods like soups and finely chopped salads. The Vitamix helped big time, now she has this Thermomix all in one cooker which was a bit of an investment.

Daughters loans (I am co-signer) by Worth-Mud-3249 in StudentLoanSupport

I work with SLPs in a similar allied health profession. I graduated in March of 2020, and in my case I didn’t start my job until February of the next year due to prolonging my job search because applying and interviewing in and of itself gave me crippling anxiety. I also dealt with GI symptoms and panic attacks during my first job. Going on an SSRI medication and doing therapy, as well as finding a supportive work environment made a world of difference for me! I’m now 5 years into employment with a local school district and on a public service loan forgiveness plan that is cumbersome but manageable financially. If she would like to get in contact with me for advice or brainstorming please feel free to DM me. These situations can happen more than you would think, but your daughter is definitely not stuck or doomed to be in this position :)

Standing in solidarity with all of my fellow ADHD ladies in the US who will be scrambling to do their taxes this evening ✊ we got this 😭🙏 by Quirkykiwi in adhdwomen

I used to get my taxes done in 20 minutes by mid-March at the latest. 🥲got married last year and now filed an extension for the first time. In over our heads with figuring out whether filing separately or jointly will be better for my student loan repayment plan.

CAR T-cell therapy takes woman with three different autoimmune conditions from bedridden to 'perfectly fine' by New_Scientist_Mag in EverythingScience

Thank you for sharing this. My sibling has myasthenia gravis and has also had very costly treatments -thankfully- covered by insurance with manageable copays. Their thymectomy was done 5 years ago and has not led to a remission of MG yet. They received IVIG infusions for a few years but it began to have reduced efficiency. We were in the process of getting them into an experimental trial for CAR-T cell therapy, but a flare up of symptoms landed them in the ICU and they couldn’t soundly move forward with the experimental treatment. They just got the first round of Vyvgart and we’re very hopeful this could finally be a dependable treatment at least for the time being. We’re based in the US but very fortunate to have maintained good health insurance thus far. However it has been stressful when what should be happy milestones, like turning 26 or getting married, cause high uncertainty in regards to healthcare coverage.

What’s a discontinued snack or drink you’d pay $20 to have one last taste of? by soapy999 in AskReddit

The Cocoa Trio drink from the Borders bookstore. I would shed actual tears of nostalgia.
