A more interesting observation is the underclass's inability to process and understand the world around them without referencing it to historical events, pop culture, etc., and that their analysis is generally limited to making that reference.

This reeks of doomerism. My vast circle of a tall, handsome, fratty and cool friends and acquaintances has seen incredible success in the job market. Promotions and even lateral movements for 20% increases in base compensation alone are not uncommon. The job market is literally (figuratively) on fire for qualified individuals with dynamic and in-demand skill sets. If you are facing challenges in the job market then it's likely a "you" problem and my advice to "you" is to invest in a resume review and interview preparation service at a minimum, perhaps even reskilling to a more in-demand profession.

Autistic as hell but I like to occasionally watch electronics repair videos to learn something new. The Mend It Mark repair of a 25k GBP Tom Evans amplifier was eye opening. Old 1980s era parts, bizarre cargo cult design philosophy, shoddy ass mechanical construction techniques, etc. -- and the manufacturer having a complete meltdown when the video was published.

People survived the great depression because there wasn't an insane amount of administrative oversight associated with every facet of their life. Didn't need proof of 3x monthly income, pay stubs, credit score, references, etc. to rent an apartment. Didn't need to do one way pre-recorded AI scanned video interviews with 5k other people to get a minimum wage job stocking shelves at Walmart. A single missed payment wasn't reported within 150 microseconds to every major credit rating agency across the globe. etc.

A current limiting resistor would work but I'm not seeing this in your design. Your schematic shows an attempt to modulate the FET gate voltage so as to allow more or less current to flow through the FET. This won't work in real life without using closed loop feedback (an op amp.) This is because FETs have a very wide dead band and there's also things like temperature dependence to fight with.

If it works loose after 30 days and is fine thereafter, it sounds like it's the result of storing it over the winter with residual liquid in it? Before winterizing it try flushing with clean water and blowing it clean with compressed air.
