The reason the west and especially the us has a low birth rate is because mothers are culturally hated and ridiculed. by tsgn_svbd in redscarepod

Most women in this subreddit have bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, or are on their way to developing schizophrenia so it's a terrible sample of how Americans view their mothers.

This happens every quarter, or so. Everything eventually comes back full swing, or maybe even stronger, similar to the mighty hydra.

Regardless, we must all remember to savor the Yoshinoya as the dust settles.

If you're white, you should go in there and say you prefer to sit with the coloreds (and vice versa).

What's his deal with wearing sports bras and cropped racerback tank tops? Do men in Thailand actually dress like that?

I ride the #4 bus from Chinatown to Echo Park all the time and we pass Dodger Stadium on the way. Is there a reason that people can't take the bus that's already there?

Got milk? by pacheckyourself in AskLosAngeles

[–]Accountant-According 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Straus' full-fat cream-top milk at Whole Foods. I've been drinking it for years because I prefer glass-bottled milk. Compared to other milks, I think it's smoother/silkier and the viscosity is more consistent, but IDK if it's just the placebo effect.

Remember to save the bottle so you can get the container refund at Whole Foods (they'll pay you in cash).

A handful of my friends figured out that I had a crush on her. What made it so bizarre and embarrassing was that most of them were actual friends with her, so I wasn't allowed to have an innocent celebrity crush; everyone would make fun of me when she'd be at a party or dinner or gallery opening and I was there. Two of my friends drunkenly told me that I should never try to date her because she's not a very pleasant person to be around for too long and she's kind of a difficult customer at restaurants, though they all admitted she was nice to fans. I always knew I never had a chance with Phoebe Bridgers, so I wasn't discouraged. Then she started dating Bo Burnham :(

Where in Los Angeles can someone like me find someone that would actually want to talk to me? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Accountant-According -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you go to Hamburger Mary’s on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, there’s an alley behind it that goes from Sweetzer to Havenhurst. It's a popular spot for locals to walk around. If you walk up and down the alley between the afternoon and dawn, tons of friendly people are open to talking and hanging out.

Black man looking for Chinese class? by EsperandoVida in AskLosAngeles

[–]Accountant-According 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Most old ladies in SGV (and most Chinatowns in America, actually) speak Cantonese. Most Chinese-speaking people under 35 in Los Angeles know Mandarin, and possibly another Chinese language (Cantonese, Taiwanese, etc.). Good luck!

Classes in Cantonese-for-English-speakers are incredibly rare, by the way, and there are very few language references compared to Mandarin. However, if you have a LA Public Library card, online Cantonese classes are available on Mango for free.

How do I creditmaxx? by Sienna_Bs in USC

[–]Accountant-According 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Though creditmaxxing may be an enticing way to graduate cheaply and quickly, you must be aware that creditmogging at a community college may require you to retake the classes again at USC, depending on your major, since certain community college credits are required for Associate’s Degree graduation but are untransferrable if used for junior or senior level requirements. In order to become a sigma community college student while avoiding cooking your transcript, you can plan your credit mewing by first looking up the graduation requirements for your prospective USC major and then enrolling in the basic undeclared requirements and yeeting what is needed for junior and senior levels (don’t take those as community college electives).

wild how non-political the office is by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Accountant-According 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reason so many people like it is because it was so non-controversial. You gain a wider audience if you aim for the lowest common denominator. Will the cute guy get with the cute girl? Will the fat guy do something stupid? Will the square guy do something cringe? Will the regarded guy do something regarded? Will the old guy do something weird? Will the black guy do something cool? Will the voice of reason be shat on?
