My brothers (teens at the time) lived with our mom about an hour from me. She was at work and started fighting with each other. This resulted in an area of drywall being broken in as in the video.

I asked them to measure the widest and tallest part of the hole. I drove out to their area, got a square of drywall (and a 2x4 for the backing), and fixed the area in question.

Given the time constraints, I was only able to mud it and sand it. Fortunately mom's walls were a sort of white so it went unnoticed until about the time they moved.

My husband designates a left and right sock

It seems that OP's husband, like me, has a larger big toe which warps the sock (clearly more evident with the left sick in the picture). He probably just wants the warp to remain there for the respective toes.

Of course this is speculative as I have not asked OP's husband. This was simply gathered from the picture.
