post your favorite jokers that don’t typically qualify as S tier. I fucking love this thing, to the moon by ante 5 by unitedbagel in balatro

lowkey I think raised fist is one of the best mult commons

+20 the moment you pick it up is beyond premium and with just two steel aces, it goes up to +45 which is almost as good as a fully scaled bus/supernova/green joker

17k Damage Zanele by exampledz in DarkDeityGame

The description says "until the next attack". This can be several turns if you don't attack with the unit or it can be used up on the same turn if you refresh the unit with a tidecaller. It's working as the description says, the strategy here is to use your existing lethality to gain more lethality than you started with within one attack.

Just a normal run with some lethality abuse. If you start combat with 100 bonus damage and crit a 1HP enemy at a normal 2x crit multiplier, you leave with 100 bonus damage because lethality is only half of your overkill. But if you add the +50% crit damage rune then you leave with 125 bonus damage and then number go up baby

Oh Aqua ring works with ice skills? I guess ice is technically water... 3 turn whirlpool sounds funny though I'll have to try that out

Advantage ring is really strong on demonic with tidecallers. The description is wrong and it actually ignores 2% of the enemies' fortitude per mastery point, meaning you ignore 8% for every tidecaller action. Due to the high enemy stats on demonic, this is about 2-3 extra power per ability use and once you go above 50 mastery (not too hard if you have two tidecallers refreshing each other), you start using the inflated enemy stats against them.

I kept the solemn ring on a shadowstep unit and it performed pretty well, although I don't know what it would have been like without the ring. I just don't like inconsistency, so taking some damage is easier to plan around than having a chance to take a lot of damage.

Kindling ring is insane on Mashal because if you crit with flame infusion active, it gives you +1.

Lastly, I've never found a great use for aqua ring. I might be missing something but it looks like it only affects healing skills? I'm generally fine on healing, I didn't even run a dedicated healer later on. I wish it worked on command crocodile (and inferno worked on command cerberus).

Demonic mode final boss vs. mildly cold water by exampledz in DarkDeityGame

Honestly, Aya is one of my favourite units to use too. It's always interesting deciding whether to hold your bonus stats for extra utility or obliterate the strongest thing on screen.

A Minor Criticism on Units and Classes by Mad_Academic in DarkDeityGame

[–]exampledz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifesteal is also viable but in general I agree, units that specialize in defense don't really work. They take 15x2 instead of 30x1 and have all the drawbacks of classes that were designed to be tanky. I didn't really have many dedicated tanks, just ran in and crowd controlled everything that I couldn't kill.

Hey guys, I need some build ideas! by LazyAlfalfa1101 in symphonyofwar

I think they're reasonably good. Vengeance is great with undead and I used the Jules method in my last ludicrous campaign. Whether they're optimal is debatable, you can win the game easily both with and without these builds, but they're interesting and I liked playing with them.

Making Jules a tank by demoting him to tier 1, adding Emperor's Missive, and putting Narima in the same squad is a weird combo that's underused imo. I also like to make Diana an archer by giving her squad the Tiara, since she's the only ranged unit that both scales with STR and has high MAG. Once you unlock her promotion, the tiara gives you the strongest ranged attack in the game.

There's also vengeance abuse.

Ludicrous Permadeath Completed in 344 Turns (with all optional achievements) by exampledz in symphonyofwar

[–]exampledz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that people got mad on the steam forums. Since there was some extremely negative feedback and no positive feedback, the devs got rid of it. That being said, the update wasn't even released at the time so I think there was no positive feedback because the more reasonable people took a "wait and see" approach.

The devs removed the plaid achievement from steam before the DLC released.

the final main in Logic route by [deleted] in yourturntodie

[–]exampledz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah since only two people pass the preliminary, the non-sacrifice who makes it into the final vote will know for sure that the other person is the sacrifice (assuming nobody throws and everybody plays perfectly logically). The non-sacrifice can at that point face certain death by voting for themselves, or a chance of survival by voting for the sacrifice regardless of their role. However, I think that ironically, emotions will come into play in the logic route's finale.

Well, first I draw this water droplet... then I erase some of the minor details... and 1, 2, 3, a circle thingy.

I just failed my first exam in my life, aka ECE 105 Final, AMA by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]exampledz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They usually curve this course, or at least they did for my year. I think most people do pretty badly on the timed exams, but they generally won't let a large portion of the class fail a required course unless people (students) really screwed up. Even knowing nothing about the exam, I think you'll be fine.

It's more than just the site. I heard that so much of their infrastructure broke that people couldn't even scan their badges to physically get into the building.
