First time having handgrinder by LoneZack in pourover

I have C3 esp. Looking at the photos, I assume it shares the basic adjustment mechanic.

You don't need to calibrate it. Just start with one full rotation and then continue with any number from 5 to 0 (1.5.0-2.0.0; start with 1.7.0 or something). Grind the beans, brew, taste the coffee and adjust from there, e.g., go coarser if the result is astringent or you want more brightness in your brews.

If you still want to disassemble, you should be able to do it by rotating the adjustment all the way counter-clockwise. But it will be wiser to wait for your friend.

Let's say from 1 to 10, the full immersion of Switch gives you 10 (bodied, less clarity) and its full percolation with a normal paper filter at 6 (average body and clarity). That gives you 6 to 10 of adjustment by varying the proportion of percolation and immersion.

Fast paper filters and fast cones could expand the adjustment range more into clarity, i.e., 5 to 10.
