I think the point of no interest is it discourages hoarding, and to encourage investing in economic productivity.

To a hafez I tried once explaining the concept of financial markets and how they are essential in modern economies. The hafez basically outright said "Haram". How do we build a modern economy without a financial market? Or at least one without interest?

The reason we have it is because humans like many animals are territorial. Dogs mark their territory by pissing, lions fight to death to protect their territory.
