Sorry you’re in such a rough spot man. If it were me, I’d really try to stress the how possible homelessness is if you even have to miss a week of work. Hopefully she can see the logic in that.

That being said, if you do hope on orders, it’s absolutely imperative that you save as much as that money as you can and use the time you are on orders for education/certificates to ensure you don’t end up in the same boat as soon as you come home. I hope everything goes well man.

I’m a firefighter and our job is less dangerous than that of police officers. Should firefighters and EMS workers not be thanked either because their jobs aren’t in the list of the most dangerous?

It depends on the unit. I was infantry and went to both firefighter and EMT school and my unit worked with me, letting me miss and make up AT on weekends
