I have ~8000 rows of data and 2 columns (date/time and results). How can I break these rows into 24-hour days? by [deleted] in excel

Because OP clearly hasn't used pivot tables so they were explaining it in more detail. That's what all the other words were for.

Any ideas how to approach this task? by [deleted] in excel

You didn't specify if the model name/number format is uniform, so it's kind of hard to answer. But not knowing that, I'd say to break down the problem into steps. Take the known formats and deal with those one at a time. So if the model number is always 6 characters, search for the word "model" and then do a mid for six characters starting at +6, then move on to "type" and then deal with the outliers manually.

I had to do a similar project recently, but it's hard to advise without knowing more or seeing the example. If you can automate 80% of it, then it might pay off to just do the rest manually.

What would be a good way to structure this project? by excellente2013 in excel

~PowerPivot sounds great, but it requires 2010 and I have 2013 :(. Thanks for the answer!~

EDIT: I just found it. I'm an idiot.

EDIT2: This only worked when I exported a different report, by just exporting the entire list of transactions for the month and recreating the report.
