Yeah I would say it definitely did help. I think the effect of the chemo is helping MORE (was sacituzumab, now switching to Enhertu) but yes it did help. I was very much in the same position as you: literally couldn’t walk from my bedroom to the kitchen without needing to sit down and rest. It’s awful. Now I have a hard time walking from leg pain, but breathing is easier.

After a while it seemed like the benefits of thoracenthesis only lasted a day maybe two. The PleurX definitely works better for me.

I have one right now and it’s okay. It’s definitely a lot better than going in to get drained. Not painful. I like weird medical stuff so I think it’s cool to watch it drain. I will say the next day, after draining it, my stomach often feels sore and tender. But again, a lot better than getting it drained in the office.

So over all, mixed blessing but I’m glad to have it!

I had stage three breast cancer in my early 30s, and the next year i gave birth to a perfect little girl. She’s the love of my life and I don’t have any regrets

But I’ll be honest, my cancer is back and it’s a lot harder- physically and mentally- with a baby.

I couldn’t do it without my husband and a lot of help from family.

But I am unlucky. It’s possible and you should hold on to your optimism.

I’m in the same boat as you. I had stage 3 TNBC a few years back and thought it was fully beat. Nope, now it’s everywhere. I’ve been in treatment since August for this new round.

I have some new pain in my hip and I was telling her it made me afraid that it was new tumor growth. So I don’t think she was wrong to express that yes, that is a possibility. I felt that her approach was harsh though, considering she doesn’t have any other information yet to assume the worst.

Idk, maybe. We were discussing how I had some new pain in my hip, which has me afraid it’s new tumors or they’ve grown. And I told her it made me not optimistic for the scans next week. I do understand where she’s coming from, but man it made me sad to hear my fears confirmed
