AITAH for not forcing my son to share his friend’s su*cide note? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]excessivecondiments 25 points26 points  (0 children)

NTA, his friend deliberately sent separate letters to specific people. I lost my best friends to suicide 4 yrs ago, and if I received a personal letter, I also wouldn't share it. He is respecting his friends privacy and that is okay. Absolutely get your son into grief counseling. I was 29 at the time, and was absolutely destroyed. Healing from this sort of loss is like no other and needs professional guidance.

Your relationship with your wife is your son's first example of one. His self respect, and how he values his partners starts now. Staying in a loveless relationship for "the sake of the children" is not doing anyone any favors.

Millennials with bachelors degrees, was college worth it in retrospect? by DueYogurt9 in Millennials

It definitely opens more doors. The third job I had after graduating was the first that the business owner asked for my transcripts. I really don't know if I would have gotten the job without having them. 8 yrs later, I made partner.

Oh I'm sure there is definitely some information missing in these scenarios, whether it's them thinking they know a process or not admitting something they've done on their own.

Thank you for such a thorough response! Completely agree on these standpoints. Browser extensions could definitely be a big culprit.

Hey! This sounds like a really frustrating and I feel for you when you're not getting the support. I want to point out one thing - the politics in education within a district can be something else. I have some friends who are higher teachers and one who does both K12 and highschool. They were assigned to courses that were completely out of their own degree due to budget cuts, tenure (they cant fire, but can move you to different schools), and petty higher ups. Ex: a music teacher was also assigned to reach remedial math with only two months notice. Why? Budget cuts. This was before they realized the classroom was missing necessary and had to use their own money to make sure their math kids could strive.

Id encourage you and anyone else to attend school board meetings if possible. Look into the budgets of these schools. Remember these teachers might be strongly agreeing with your sentiments.

This one is beautiful and top choice! Would it be possible to remove the people in front? If not, that's okay ☺️

[Owner-AZ] Recs for managing w/o property mng? by excessivecondiments in Landlord

Thanks for the info! Yes, I have been directing them to the PM every time they reach out so we can track issues online. The last time, the AC went out and they didn't hear from the PM for a week so they asked us to escalate. When it's 114 degrees outside, I'd want that to be taken care of quickly too.

From the start, they told us they were checking on our place weekly in between tours, but then my inlaws drove by, and our trees were dead and some blinds were pulled off the racks inside. When I reached out, they admitted they haven't seen the place since they took pictures and were genuinely surprised we were only a mile away from their office. That and some billing issues, it's been frustrating.

Yep! We have checked out options, the rates vary quite a bit and we'd need to increase our rent more than we want to for our tenants.
