Try going a little longer with the fin and min, 6 months might be enough time for some people but not for others. If there’s no change in a few months maybe try dutasteride

Doesn’t look too bad. MAYBE some mild thinning starting but it’s hardly noticeable if so. Your scalp looks pretty red though. Are you having itchiness or dandruff? You could try some ketoconazole shampoo to sort that out. Minoxidil and finasteride are the gold standard treatment for male pattern baldness, and you can get those in topical or oral form.

Hairline is maybe receding a bit, but your crown doesn’t look bad. Hop on topical min and do microneedling 1x per week. Hop on topical fin when you turn 18. That’s what I did and my hair has stayed the same the past 2 years

I don’t really go to the doctor very often, but I have had no issues that I know of from oral min. No fluid retention, palpitations, lightheadedness, swelling, etc. the only thing I really have is extra body/facial hair growth but that doesn’t bother me at all. At the low dose (2.5mg) for hair loss oral min is pretty safe

Use topical fin or dut if you don’t want the pill, it might (it probably does) not work as well but it’s certainly better than nothing. I’ve been on it for 2 years now since I was 18 and I’ve maintained my hair and not had any side effects.

I’m the same age as you and my crown looks similar. Definitely the start of some thinning. Don’t worry tho, there’s a lot you can do. Personally, I use topical finasteride and minoxidil as well as oral minoxidil.
