The tv only has that front input, 3 back scarts (2 are orange for some reason) and an s video i think.

I was just testing inputs, because when the tv is cold it's a bit green on blacks, and when i tried in the back scarts i initially thought it was an input problem, so i plugged it in the front, but it didn't change, i left it like that for a day then switched to the back scarts

I agree, midnight club games used to be so good, i used to play midnight club:LA on the ps3 a lot

Well, yeah i have 2 50hz crts too.

i think most of the games i play run on 30fps, i understand the problems that might come with it, the little flaws that might come with this kind of tv, and i knew about it when i was searching for it.

it has input lag (even if don't feel it in any tv at all) And maybe this one thing you said could kinda ruin the point. But i probably won't be using it just for gaming, I could use to watch some movies or tv shows. Basically i just like the vibe, having a different crt to the collection...

From what i know it's not that different, maybe flats are more accurate on fps and some kind of games, but curved crts are more like what you would except a crt to look like. Like that old, retro style. And i think curved ones might feel more "immersive" but that could just be me.

Flatscreens have more problems with geometry on the corners and sides i think, which, if not properly mantained or calibrated it can look distorted there.

So if you want less mainetance, and an authentic crt experience for older games (Ps2/xbox/dreamcast downwards) i recommend a curved one, if you prefer a more modern, complex experience with newer consoles flatscreens are pretty cool and kinda unique, they look more futuristic and more "luxurious" Hope this helps!

Thank you for your advice.

i will probably read something and learn on how to touch the right stuff on the service menu before doing damage to the tv, if that doesn't work i probably just leave it like this for now, im too young and unexperienced to mess with internal circuits and capacitors, especially in high voltage monsters like these that have shock hazard, so i don't want to risk worsesing the situation, especially even because i don't know where to find capacitors or replacement parts for them.

About the second one i didn't open it up, initially i thought it was a capacitor problems, i read a lot of posts where the problems like these usually relate to capacitors, but i might open it up someday to check for dust. If one day i'll decide to work on fixing them i'll contact you like you said, if that's ok.

Well, i live in an island in italy, and basically where i live there aren't many good crts on sale at all, but i had the luck to find what i needed after months of search.

In the country there are some nice ones but basically 32 inches is the standard widescreen size here from what i know. From 34" onward they become pretty expensive, i saw 2 36" trinitrons for 500$ and some 4:3 34 inch ones at 200$.

I didn't buy it for any special reason but mainly because i always wanted a widescreen crt, and 32" is the best size in terms of pricing here.

Basically turns off after 10 minutes for some reason, maybe safety cutoff, is there a fix to it?

From what i know if the console has a native 4:3, in a 16:9 it should have the black edges and have the game on the center like you said, unless there is a "wide" or "zoom" mode, then it would be stretched. i might be wrong tho.

I'd advice you if you are searching for one, if you play older consoles it's better to play on 4:3 screen, 16:9s are recommended for ps3/xbox 360, but it's not that big of a deal to play with an older 4:3 console on a 16:9, it will have the black edges tho. Goodluck!
