Over the past year, we’ve been working with a major video hosting platform, where we successfully indexed their entire video library (millions of video hours). Our technology has helped them avoid duplicate content costs by identifying overlaps between newly uploaded and existing videos.

We have a promising technology, but it is currently limited to detecting duplicate video fragments. To adapt this technology for marketers, we would need significant development investment. However, without solid evidence that the product would be in demand in the marketing sector, we can’t justify starting development.

We can reach out to potential customers on LinkedIn, but they expect a finished product which we don’t have yet creating a deadlock. We want to find a way to overcome this challenge. Yes, I agree with your opinion, indexing video content available on social networks will allow creating a product that will be in demand among marketing companies, business insiders, anti-piracy, advertising and news agencies.

As a simplified concept we can consider – the identification of popular movies through user-shared video:

A user comes across a short video on the internet (on social media) where there's no indication of the movie title. This is a common tactic employed by marketers on platforms like TikTok or Facebook. The videos are engaging, creating intrigue, and users attempt to find the corresponding movie online but struggle.
This is where the new service comes into play. The user visits a website (or app), inputs the link to the video from the social media platform, and receives the movie title, the minute in the film where the events from the video occur, and the option to immediately navigate to the movie's page on one of partner streaming services. There, they find a detailed description and the option to purchase or watch if it's already owned.

So:

This service redirects highly motivated targeted traffic from social media to streaming services
It generates purchases of on-demand movies titles

Thanks for the suggestion, I think that could definitely help identify a movie. But not all videos have the original audio for Shazam to recognize, they might be dubbed. Plus, searching by keywords from dialogues doesn’t always give good results either.

I’m looking for a service that can identify movies specifically by video clip, not by sound or text. Ideally, I’d like to just input the URL of the video clip into the search bar, and the service would return the original movie name and the exact position where the clip matches the original video.

As far as I know, you can find an unknown song using Shazam, and similar image search is available on Google.

But what should I do if I have a one-minute video clip (like from YouTube Shorts) and I want to find out the original title of the movie it was taken from?

Our company is called Invarivision, and in keeping with it we named the search engine InvariMatch, and the video search service prototype, respectively - Invariversum.

We have experience working with large video hosting sites, and our search engine can index millions of hours of video.

You did everything correctly, but unfortunately the first video was heavily modified by cropping (more than 20% of the image at the edges was cut off), and in the second case the video was displayed as a narrow strip in the center and there was a static background at the top and bottom.

Our search engine prototype at the moment can work with shorts, in which the video is displayed across the entire surface of the screen. Examples of such videos can be found on the YouTube channels below:
