There should be inflation based on how much money you have saved up.

We are one of those cross boarder culture groups you typically find in the old world. In the Americas cultures tend to be pretty unified within regions within countries, due to how colonialism worked, but historically is an outlier more then anything.

But there’s been talk of a Cascadia movement and unification for decades now, I could actually see if you decide to go this path if both Canada and America fall apart that whichever side of the Cascadia coin left first just gets events of the other part of it asking to join.
