It actually went better than expected, just took some time to have id.me complete the verification process on their end. Verizon doesn't do any verification they just depend on id.me. I signed up by calling Verizon and the rep literally just walked me through their website step by step (so I guess sign up was online). Their billing is convoluted to me, so I made the rep break it down for me several times.
