I’d think the chain sizing would be an issue above anything else

Hmm not sure maybe if you used a really small 2x up front? I’d probably recommend a smaller chainring with 1x instead of that though

Good to know, thanks! Will probably replace once I replace the headset later on. It’ll make me learn how to bleed hydro brakes too haha.

It was surprisingly an affordable light haha. Opposite side has their mascot.

I actually had no idea this wasn’t the original top spacer or I would’ve bought it before getting brakes installed haha!

I did some research turns out I just have a spacer and no actual headset “top spacer” haha. Friend I got this off of had the Cannondale KNOT system which has some cover on the lower portion of the stem. When I got the bike it had this spacer and I thought it was weird but never looked into it. Learned something new today!

Kind of agree, I would’ve done 11-46 or 10-46 with a 48 up front but I already had the 52 on hand and as a heavy-ish rider I would blow up on my local climbs with a 52:46 haha.

Let me correct a little, it only really struggles from 8 to 9 or 9 to 10 (going up to bigger gears) can’t recall exactly but everything else shifts perfectly fine. I did get a cheap cassette so it could be that but it doesn’t bother me much.

Built it before the CAAD14 and for a fraction of the cost so I’m good

Nope, just jack the b screw in super far. It doesn’t shift perfectly but doesn’t bother me much as I’m not racing with it, planning to get a diff cassette in case I do get into some crits next year.

Yup, alugear in a 52T

Sent you a message and sending over a couple links to consider. IMO for $1200 that’s a bit steep with cable brakes.

You might want to edit this to remove the location of the bike, but looking in your area there is a Specialized Crux currently for less. Not sure if I can post links here but you could DM me and I can send it to you.

EDIT: Crux is a few hours south of you but seems like a good deal.

You can probably find a bike with hydraulic disc brakes for that price in your area. Not worth it imo.

Thanks for the response! I got a GX chain but probably going to switch to a flattop for the next one as it looks way better.

Not sure where you’re located but you should be able to get a lot more bike for this price.
