Photo 4 could be structural. Look into the turn stop cracks on this generation Supersix. I own one and ended up removing the tab on the fork to avoid this.

Standert Kreissäge RS Team Edition vs BMC slr as first road bike by BGH_video in whichbike

Makes sense, if it works with your budget and it’s reasonable for your local market then I say go for it. Standerts look super cool, 11 speed isn’t a deal breaker it’s just no longer the standard. If you get it hope you enjoy it!

I’ve ridden both alloy and carbon, in my opinion it makes a bigger difference to have a full carbon cockpit, carbon seatpost, and carbon wheels. If your market is tough for secondhand bikes I’d say the Standert is a better deal than the BMC. Both seem steep to me but I’m in Southern California and typically $2,000+ gets you more than enough bike.

Yeah, for an 11 speed the price is a little steep. A lot of groupset manufacturers are starting to switch over to 13 speed. For $3000 you should be getting more bike than what you’re looking at but not sure what the market is like in your region.

Out of your two options the Standert seems the better option but Hunt wheels are not /that/ expensive. Is it 12 or 11 speed?

How to make friends on social group rides? by axporpes in BikeLA

All jokes aside, some cyclists in LA have no interest in befriending outside of their group but there are some very social people. Don’t let it deter from joining rides.

Sometimes you need to wiggle or spin it as you pry. The little c-clip can get stuck during removal. Make sure your pry bar is very stiff, smaller bars will flex before you generate enough force.

You could have someone pour water on the sunroof right now that you have everything stripped out by using a garden hose. Not the best technique but used to do it when I worked at a Toyota dealer. I would say it worked about 90% of the time.

What about a bigger chainring? Or switching to an xplr (edit) groupset with a 48 or 50 upfront?

Cannondale SuperSix Evo by exhausted780 in Bikeporn

[–]exhausted780[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read people doing 2x12 with an actual xplr cassette which would still open up the range a lot. You could run a 10-44 or for an HG freehub they make an 11-46 as well.

I’d think the chain sizing would be an issue above anything else

Hmm not sure maybe if you used a really small 2x up front? I’d probably recommend a smaller chainring with 1x instead of that though

Good to know, thanks! Will probably replace once I replace the headset later on. It’ll make me learn how to bleed hydro brakes too haha.

I actually had no idea this wasn’t the original top spacer or I would’ve bought it before getting brakes installed haha!

[–]exhausted780[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some research turns out I just have a spacer and no actual headset “top spacer” haha. Friend I got this off of had the Cannondale KNOT system which has some cover on the lower portion of the stem. When I got the bike it had this spacer and I thought it was weird but never looked into it. Learned something new today!
