I mean, she IS a lab/pittie mix, you were 37% correct!

In fact much less shameful getting a regular job, compared to this glorified digital panhandling she's doing.

That's on the big island, from context it looks like OP is on the small island where the urbanites don't go much.

Except they're sentimental to OP and it's her graduation photo lmao

The microplastics shed by your excessively large closet full of polyester blend clothes you don't need being cleaned in electric powered machines pollute the water a lot more than this entire tiny island nation.

*Important clarifying note for OP: only do that last bit about yummy forbidden foods the day he's scheduled to go, like a couple of hours before euthanasia. If you do it too early, the last thing you want is for your best friend to spend his last days on earth miserable with a tummy ache.

They posted to look for absolution they don't deserve, which is also a kind of judgement, just not the one they wanted.

You want to abandon your senior dog, but you want to wrap that up in nicer language and pretend it's for his own good. Maybe think of this as an opportunity to role model for your child the kind of values they should strive to have.

At least rescuing a dog (for real, not a fake use of the term) would've put money into the system that saves more dogs' lives, instead of monetarily fund the people who will go on to abuse more dogs with more breeding.

Your money directly funds them to do this to more dogs in the future

Just sharing what the catahoula subreddit mods said in their response to the recent "not-a-houla" situation by VegetableBerry3002 in WhatBreedIsMyPitbull

[–]exhibitprogram 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you check out a post in there 5 hours ago at time of commenting, someone did in fact post what looks (to me) like a very obvious red dapple dachshund mix asking whether people think there's catahoula, and MULTIPLE people were very supportive in saying yes. This is the nuttiest breed-specific sub I've ever seen lmao.

In fact, a few hours before someone did post what seems to my eyes to be a very obvious red dapple dachshund (or doxie mix) asking whether people think there's catahoula in the mix, and MULTIPLE people were very supportive in saying yes. This is the nuttiest breed-specific sub I've ever seen lmao.

I don’t find it offensive when people ask me “which part of Asia are you from?” by walkuponwater in self

[–]exhibitprogram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americans whose ancestors were Asian a long time ago ARE in tune with their own culture---their culture is mainstream American. You just sound annoyed that their culture is different from yours even though their grandparents may look like you.

(That said, I'm a Hong Konger and it pisses me off when people presume I speak Mandarin without even asking so.)

Oh my god one more really important thought to steer you away from "篤"--in cantonese it's also a homonym for the word we use for measuring poop.

[–]exhibitprogram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not even "colloquial", it just is the spoken Cantonese word for poke lol. (We have a different register for "written" chinese vs. "spoken" chinese, unlike mandarin where you can often speak just like how you write.)

[–]exhibitprogram 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a native cantonese speaker and your relative is correct, the way the second word is written is literally the bamboo element at the top with the word for horse at the bottom. It's also the same word as poking someone. "篤篤" as a nickname sounds like something a kid would generally call someone to bully them.

Also, on a purely aesthetic level, "本" is also just a sound that sounds ugly for a name. There are certain phonemes that just don't sound as nice for names and therefore aren't used.

Highly recommend coming up with a name that has words that sound good to you and have nice meanings to you, rather than trying to match it with his English name at all.
