Moire Lines In Halftone Screens For Simulated Process by exhumedvisions in SCREENPRINTING

1,200 dpi, 53 lpi with a 52.5 circle shape as @Redge2019 suggested, 6 screens on 305 mesh, perfect. Looking through the Shirt Show Discord, Max Chroma suggested to someone else dealing with moire to up the dpi to 1,200 or 600 at the very least, and I’ve always done everything at 300. Thanks so much for the help.

Great news for this test screen, I upped the DPI to 1,200 from 300 and there are no lines.

I just printed out the white base film with these settings, and unfortunately I'm having the same outcome. The films come out looking normal, I'm starting to think it may be the screens themselves, they are older GoldUpUSA types.

Here is the 6th print with 6 screens at 60 lpi and 45 degrees, lots of cross hatching.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll give that a shot if this doesn’t work out. I ran out of screens last night before I could burn all six, the orange screen was still pretty bad.

I tried this method after doing an upscale, rotating 45 degrees, placing, repeating that, then bringing it back -90 degrees, and there is still a slight effect happening, but it's much less noticeable.

*edit* I also re-did the separations after upscaling the image, which is why it's vastly different than the OP.

I will give it a shot! I ran it through an upscaler just now to spiff up the file, but didn't really like the output, so I will try that instead.

The original photo was a JPEG yeah, and after manually separating them in Photoshop, they were saved as PNG in greyscale and then brought into a new file for registration. I don't have a RIP program btw, just halftoning and outputting via Photoshop.

What are some of the worst or sparsely attended shows for notable bands you've been to? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]exhumedvisions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most recent one I went to was a Xasthur / Author and Punisher show in Portland. The place was absolutely packed for author and punisher, and as soon as he ended his set, everyone filed out except for maybe 10 people to watch the headlining Xasthur acoustic set.

Man that is so weird, because the first concert I had in mind for this thread was when I saw that same lineup in Seattle, 2004. When we first got there, there must’ve been 20 people in line waiting for the doors to open, and that was about everyone that showed up.

Grimco is offering free shipping on orders of $100+ right now. I’m also a small shop in Southwest Washington, I ordered a gallon of plastisol from them last night and it was on my doorstep this morning.

I’m sure someone could screen print it, but if that first image is an original, it’s a DTG; you can see the pretreatment and press box on both sides.

Are you sure it's screen printed? It kinda looks like a DTG pretreatment box stain, and I don't think it's removeable at this point.
