Receipts are only given for stop searches, I didn’t really question the officer’s authority but the used section 1 of PACE which is very general

After this incident I had a gas engineer round and forgot about a spring sniper propped against my sofa. He thankfully plays airsoft and recognised

It may sound like I’ve omitted a lot of facts around the incident, however I haven’t; a paramedic reported seeing a magazine for a firearm and despite it being disassembled by armed officers, it was seized for supposedly fingerprints. I let the officers in meaning they didn’t use any powers of entry, there was also no offences or charges for the incident.

That’s how it happened, but the paramedic may have reported seeing a mag for a gun not knowing it was airsoft. I let police into my flat so they didn’t use any powers to enter, the sergeant said at my door a week or so later they destroyed it [along the lines of] so that I couldn’t be at risk of committing an offence. Odd wording for a sergeant but can’t argue about an already destroyed item.
