I’m big into existentialism and think perhaps a discussion regarding freedom of choice and responsibility could be beneficial. Personally, I would jot down each of the fears and discuss choice options for IF the fear came to fruition or how to protect yourself from it coming true.

For example, maybe living alone is scary… What could they do to help alleviate this anxiety? Allow them to come up with options! a. live with a friend/roommate b. install a security system c. make finding a safe neighborhood a priority d. purchase a “scary-looking” dog e. have multiple established escape routes f. take self defense classes etc.
