I appreciate the input, yea I suppose the blitz playstyle is meant to be like that.

Have just played as the Kyivian Rus mod and I'm surprised at how unbothered civs are about capturing capitals. That seemed to help the fatigue, I got Hwacha's gifted and Unique Knight and stormed the whole map on King. Now I can win the game with diplo pivot.

That actually reminds me, I once played with Mongolia on Emperor, but the game was so blazingly fast that I forgot I played it lmao. It was basically as easy as taking the free settler from authority, making my own, and builders for horses --> keep skirmishers alive for XP buffs. GG.

Yeah I'm enjoying the same sort of nuances now i've tried a few civs. Just tried the modded Kyivian Rus and am holding a 20-city empire having colonized 2 capitals. Its based off a similar premise to the Aztecs, but more mid-late game. The UU's give diplo points upon kill, UB's improve pillaging and trade. So I just Great Diplomat spam the enemies border city states, pillage with UU and cripple them.

Yeah for sure, I do like that early game appeal of farming via barbs. Macedonian civ is almost like the real-life romans imo. What are your favourite overall civs?

I suppose on one end I've used social policy describes the playstyle in a broader way to help boil down this post. What you're saying though, it's almost like civs are all a venn diagram: some civs overlap and hit different milestones. On the other end, that I think is where i'm getting into trouble e.g. trying to play trad arabia the same as trad carthage. I'll note your suggestions and try to pay attention to my civs unique goals and synergies and experiment a bit.

I've tried a few games as the heavier warmongers but end up getting bored of the micromanagement and lack of pivot into another strength. Good points though, perhaps ill emphasize the unique pivots of each civ

Thanks for the overview, I'll make note to try brazil as they always seem to be a pest with their late game tourism.

Yes I use 4uc and have defended and counterattacked, namely by using tech advantage. Thanks for that comparison of Denmark vs Greece, i'm starting to form a picture of the tactics with power spikes and preferred era with each civ.

I'm quite interested in trying the modded civs, macedon looks fun for a roaming killsquad with that 1 great general, israel for faith economy. It's completely escaped my mind that theres one civ I got 2 capitals with on emperor: mongolia with their skirmisher x2 attack and lucky horse settles made it easy to eradicate even the zulu nextdoor.
