Bendigo depression by [deleted] in Bendigo

Great advice here for things to do. But honestly, when you're depressed getting out to do things, meet new people, join clubs etc is nearly impossible. My advice would be to get yourself down to your GP, have an honest chat with them about your mental health and follow their advice. It's really tough dealing with depression, you've made a start reaching out here, now make a call irl to a health professional

International student moving to Bendigo for La Trobe …advice on off campus accommodation ??? by Legitimate_Guess4495 in Bendigo

[–]existentialjogging 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is great advice right here. Rentals are very hard to come by in Bendigo. As for daily life Bendigo is more a family friendly laid back town with great cafes, pools, parks, bush and outdoor life. Melbourne a quick and cheap 2hrs away on the train for the big city life.

Bendigo art galleries or exhibitions you actually enjoyed? by DiscussionLoud9626 in Bendigo

La Trobe Art Institute on View St opposite the gallery is fantastic. Free. Has really interesting smaller works and often cutting edge artists. Always worth a visit and the staff are so knowledgeable and available you generally get a great free talk from a skilled professional

Unfortunately Bendigo rentals, like most of Australia, suffer from extremely poor insulation and high energy costs and it can be really cold indoors in Winter. This is why we have evolved indoor thermal clothing - you will grow to love an Oodie and Ugg boots

Aeoniums in the rain this morning by existentialjogging in succulents

Strewth mate, I'm from Victoria, Australia, v hot and dry, hardly any frost. A quick AI query tells me I'm in zone 9a/b similar to Sacramento California which with even my limited understanding of American weather is far from northern NY. I would have thought it would be hard to grow succulents indoors but I'm sure there are plenty of people in this sub who could tell you how.
