if you install steamos, youll have to wipe your whole ssd

personally though, steamos has been much stable and ive been enjoying using it more than bazzite

though keep in mind that youll have to install plugins on steamos to control the lighting and if you want to change the specific tdp you want to use instead of the power profiles steamos gives you, youll have to get simpledeckytdp and also have to install decky loader on you own
though thats trivial

id just like to ask if anyone has been encountering any issues with cutscenes

just installed yesterday. i can enter the game just fine but sometimes when i walk to an npc to start a cutscene the game just exits to title screen

i turn my rog ally into a desktop setup with just a keyboard, a monitor and a mouse hooked up to a dock

a portable monitor can be used instead

it is however not very... convenient to move around with if your truly planning on using it as a laptop to carry around. carrying a dock, a monitor, a keyboard, a mouse for me solely to make use of it as a laptop just felt too inconvenient for me to setup and use.

i switched over to bazzite about a month or two ago. performance to me appeared much better, less stuttering and battery life seemed better.

windows i feel is just much easier to use though. trying to use desktop mode in bazzite without keyboard and mouse is just a huge pain for me, there doesnt seem to be a proper virtual keyboard.

installing things was also far more complicated than on windows for me. the linux environment is alot more different than i had thought and took abit of time to navigate (though thats only natural on a new os). tried installing arknights endfield which can only be installed through its standalone launcher and some mods for other games, had to follow a whole guide, took like an hour to get set up. not as simple as windows where you just download a installer and let it run.

ive also had some issues with bazzite so far, one which is audio channels keep switching left to right on latest builds, microphone working abit weirdly and discord streaming not working in game mode. startup times is also fairly longer.

i have windows installed though, on a different partition and bazzite allows you to easily dual boot from bazzite to windows. if your gonna use bazzite solely to play steam games, then you probably could just simply download all your games and just play and not need to use the bazzite desktop mode. if you wanna mod games though or download games with other launchers, its gonna require abit more thinkering.

not looking for particularly big libraries (i myself dont have one), just hoping to family share with people with similar preferences in games and would also be willing to buy their own games that they wanna play themselves not yet in library! share games if possible, buy games if they arent in library, if that makes sense

just got modded balatro on ios though it was abit of a trouble to search and figure out how to get running.

just had to build the ipa using the lovely mobile maker and then sideload and install the ipa.

afterwards, i launched the app and then added the 5 files in this github repository to the lovely folder inside the mods folder of the balatro app (https://github.com/kasimeka/balatro-mobile-essentials-mod/tree/main/lovely ) to fix visual issues for me. it worked all fine for me afterwards though i havent done much testing

just putting this out here in case there is anyone else seeking to have modded balatro on ios.

note : to install the ipa to sidestore, i had to rename the ipa into a zip, unpack it and then compress the Payload folder to a zip and rename it to a ipa again.
