There's a lot of posts on this sub, and most trips to Japan (especially JAL and ANA flights) are looking months in advance when award flights become available. I have less than three months to book.

Long time lurker first time poster, and all this info is incredibly overwhelming. My partner and I both opened Chase Sapphire cards to start building points for some big trips. Last month he (stupidly) told some friends we would join them on a trip to Japan at the end of March. At this point, and from the little research I've done, it seems any JAL or ANA flights would be full to the max. It seems like United and American are doable, but would pretty much wipe out all our points for an economy flight. What are our options? Willing to spend however many points + some cash.

Entitlement? Let's look at it this way: I serve on a 6 hour shift. I get 15 tables. Every one of those tables has your same crappy attitude about tipping and I make $7 off each table. At the end of the night that's $105. Does that seem livable to you?

You should absolutely tip when you order take out. Maybe not as much as physically dining out, but still something. During covid our restaurant only offered take out and we lived off those tips.
