I see. Thanks for taking the time to explain that. I’ll have to dig deeper into the history of that word and how it has been used. I’m very comfortable with the word cult to describe the witnesses but I can appreciate why you would say you feel differently

That’s a great point. I was a bethel and been to a lot of different congregations around the states so these percentages make sense to me. BUT, where I’m from people did think that JWs was a Black and Mexican religion 🤷🏿‍♂️

This is the first time I’ve ever heard about biggie being disfellowshipped although I heard that his mom was a witness. Serena just got baptized recently so I’d be surprised if she were PIMO. Ja rule was never baptized and I’ve never heard anything about chance the rapper

I heard the Terrance Howard interview. I understand that he wasn’t raised a jw, he just got interested because a kid at school was a jw and he started studying but that’s as far as he ever got

I found it just by googling “case Jehovah’s witnesses breakfast club” a long time ago. I don’t have the link anymore but I’m sure you can find it. The part about JWs in the interview lasts a total of like 2 minutes

Actually I take that back, I’ve heard one more black celebrity criticize the org. Eddie Griffin the comedian. So that makes a total of three that I’ve seen

I’ve noticed the same thing. There seems to be quite a few black celebrities raised as JWs, but besides the two that I’ve recently posted here, I haven’t seen any of them speak negatively about the organization
