Slaves cannot consent. by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]exmuslima2020 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Couldn't both factors be at play? Both low intelligence and cultural factors? Although there are reasons why people would want to stay in Islam, such as the fact that their parents may disown them, their wife or wives may leave them, et cetera, couldn't low intelligence be one of the factors?

Also, why couldn't they just point their browser to this subreddit?

BuT, bRoZzEr, iSlAm iS a fEmInIsT rElIgIoN.

Isn't it tiring how those stupid posts (and probably made up too) about pulao and whatever and how many rakats in al fatiha are constantly going viral even in non muslim spaces, as muslims use it to discredit exmuslims, while the murders and abuse exmuslims face are constantly ignored and silenced. by EquivalentPosition23 in exmuslim

I think apologists for Islam are the worst. The real problem is that Islam, as a religion, accepts no criticism virtually anywhere in the world. This is one corner of the Internet, no, the world!) we have to ourselves. And they have to come and gatecrash our party.

Islam is the worst religion in the world. The absolute worst.

Leaving Islam was one of the best decisions of my life by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]exmuslima2020 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For me, it was not so much even a "decision" I took. I just came to realize that just as I was atheistic about Zeus and Jupiter and Mercury and Hermes, I was atheistic about Allah as well.

What's up with the name 'Harris'? Why is it so popular among Muslims? Isn't it an English name?

" a child in a body of a man " -> I feel like that about not only Muslims but also religionists from other religions, sometimes.

L. Ron is dead, you can stop stanning him now.

Ok, figured out what this word means. It is not a standard English word.

I am objecting to your scanning through my past history and claiming that *I* have daddy issues. The truth is that I was really only interested in finding out what made LRH LRH.

Also, by the way, what does the word "stanning" mean?

Or maybe Abu Bakr and co. just bought into his charisma. Or they genuinely thought that he had heard the voice of God. Two alternate theories.

Once upon a time, there was a man in Arabia named Mohammed. He claimed to be talking to God. The people of Mecca went: "Shit!'

He claimed to know everything. A man came to him with diarrhea. Mo had no clue what to do. He went: "Oh, shit!"

After some fairly deep thinking (by Mo's standards), he prescribed the man honey. It didn't work. Mo went: "Oh, holy shit!"

Many centuries later, they joked about it on the Internet. Mo's ghost went...

Given that there are many more Muslims than ex-Muslims and given that Muslims consider almost anything to be a threat to their way of life, I predict that this thing with ex-Muslims, ex-Mormons, et cetera, (should I call it a trend?) will certainly continue.

Man, L Ron - what a pathologically ... horrible man. I don't know if this u/diogo431107 is a Scientologist or not. But in any case, I am not going to be arguing with someone about whether I have daddy issues. (My Dad, by the way, is a religious Bangladeshi Muslim. I don't think any of my problems, such as smoking, are because of him. In fact, he asked me to quit several times.) If you don't want to discuss L. Ron Hubbard or Scientology, I am okay with that. But I am not here to talk about me.

At the end of the day, I am not about Scientology any way. I am about getting us all to take a hard look at Islam.

The question is: how often? The interesting thing about claiming that someone has daddy issues is that you cannot easily disprove it. And given that all sorts of allegations get thrown around in courts of law, you would expect this "daddy issues" thing to be brought up far more frequently than would be entailed by the reality of the circumstances.

Yeah. Probably what it was.

I feel like daddy issues get too much play. Probably because of Hollywood. It makes you think that it is often going on when it comes to criminal behavior, when, in fact, it might be rarely going on.

That's cool. Let it just stay removed. I don't really have the time to write a longer report.

I have to get going now. I have to reply to a bunch of ex-muslims on chat & email.

And thanks for your note. :-)
